March 31st-what is your Cowboys pick in rd 1?

The Cowboys have 10 picks they don’t need 12.
You are right they don't need 12. They need 14. It's got NOTHING to do with Lance or losing the 4th round pick. I never mentioned that once.

It's called working the draft. Just like they successfully did it with Parsons and Guyton. Bottom line is the Cowboys need all the picks they can get.

follow the money, they will draft only high salary pick at 12 so WR or DE.I would go with TMAC because i dont think Mykel Williams and Shemar stewart are pro bowl caliber players.I also like Mike Green and Jalon Walker but so far the Cowboys have shown no interest in either of them.

The Cowboys have 10 picks they don’t need 12. The obsession that you guys have with getting a 4th round pick is over the top. The Cowboys are in a good position to get 3 quality players already. If some team offers a top 60 pick maybe you consider trade down but they have to overpay.
They need 6 in the first 3 rounds.

Just 25 days out and 30 day visit list forthcoming, who do you got the Cowboys taking in rd 1?

MyKel Williams DE Georgia is my pick a month away.

Think they are looking to for their next DLaw. A balance strong-side Edge with rush upside. Could be him or Stewart is my guess at this time.

WHAT I WOULD DO: small trade back and land either a 2nd tier WR or DT.
Matthew Golden

3 quality players, when we need 6.
Realistically the team is on a mini rebuild. You hope you have a Rams draft or Seattle type of draft two years ago but that is not realistic. What you don’t want to do is draft like we have the last two seasons.

I think there's a lot of good players in this first round, but not a lot of great players. But as I went through a list of possibilities at #12, I see the silver lining in that. There's not a lot of chances for the Cowboys to really strike out this year and pick someone who's high-risk or really terrible.

I would attempt a backflip if we drafted Will Johnson or Tet McMillan, hit the back of my head, and not even care. I would throw my remote through the wall if we drafted Josh Simmons, Jalon Walker, or Omarion Hampton. But there's like 10 other dudes that would get a polite Jason Garrett 3-and-out clap from me.

With so many similar graded players, trading back will be very difficult. I think trading up this year might be less expensive as teams maybe willing to take less to bail out of their positions and get additional pick.

I want to like Jalon Walker so much but I just can’t…he’s ranked in the top 10 by a lot of the big name media scouts but he’s just not very good off the ball.

I think he’s basically Overshown with nowhere near the same coverage ability so in early downs he’d likely be a target to throw against.

The downhill stuff is fun but 12 is too rich for me.

Here is what I am reading about the Butkus Award winner:

The 6'2", 245-pound linebacker's collegiate career culminated in a decorated senior campaign that included First-Team All-America honors from multiple publications. Walker's development from specialized pass rusher to every-down defender showcases his dedication to mastering the nuances of linebacker play, while maintaining the explosive elements that made him a blue-chip recruit.

Scouting Report: Summary

Walker's explosiveness off the edge and development as an off-ball linebacker jump off the screen. His combination of twitch and power reminds me of Anthony Barr coming out of UCLA – a defensive weapon waiting to be unleashed. The way he demolished Texas's protection scheme with three sacks showed exactly what he can be at the next level.

The Ravens or Cowboys would be perfect landing spots, where creative defensive minds could maximize his versatility as both a stack linebacker and designated pass rusher. His closing speed and natural feel for rushing the passer scream third-down playmaker from day one. The coverage skills are still raw, but the athletic traits and processing speed suggest he'll develop quickly in that area.

Give Walker two years in an NFL strength program while letting him hunt quarterbacks on passing downs, and you're looking at a defensive cornerstone. His film against SEC competition proves he can hang with NFL-caliber athletes. The ceiling here is a Pro Bowl linebacker who defensive coordinators can deploy as their ace card – whether it's shutting down tight ends in coverage or creating havoc off the edge. Few prospects in this class offer that kind of game-changing potential.

and I see him as a Parsons clone.

I don't know if he will ever live up to this hype, but I would love to be the DC who got to utilize him somewhat like Wade Phillips did Von Miller and DWare at Denver. I would have every OC wondering which one was coming from where, and which one was the DE or OLB vs Mike. If he is a Pasons clone, then they could get pressure, and still defend.

A move like this -- BIG IF -- he panned out is one that puts you on the road to a Superbowl.

With this said, cnuball21 -- you have probably scouted him much better than I and this scouting report is probably bunk. I haven't watched any film on him nor done anything but remember him from the season, and read a few scouting reports on him.

Over the years, I just don't spend the time anymore as a fan because if I think I have the right picks.....its still Jerrys team and he still picks whomever he wants.

Walker is my guy from the start but i dont think the Cowboys are interested in him, they like his team mate Mykel Williams.

83% completion percentage against, 125 passer rating when targeted and a 62 run defense grade.

It’s exciting to think about another Parsons type prospect but he’s not on the same
planet as Parsons was as a prospect.

He might be a DPR at the next level hoping he can turn into someone like Haason Reddick. The hit rate on those type of guys has been looooooooow.
