I really wish he would take one for the team instead and just retire. Hell I wish Jerry Jones would reach a deal with him and agree to pay him his money under the table after he agrees to retire. He could pay pack his signing bonus and Mr. Jones could just slip it back to him when no one is looking.

Snyder does it enough, no reason JJ cant get his players to do the same.

This is not the 49'er organization...! You don't "just slip it back to him"...!

Play by the rules or don't play at all!

Think Commanders...

You want to emulate the RedStinks?

Just because the Midget does something like that does not mean the Cowboys need to follow the lead!

Look at the trouble the Stinks are in! You want the Boyz to be that way?

What are you the football police? If A hush hush deal could be reached, I think it should be persued.

I could see him asst coaching the O-line because he is a stand up guy. That I wouldn't mind if he got a chance.

I've utterly loathed his play during his tenure in Dallas...

Haha hell no I dont want to emulate the Skins. I'm just saying Snyder does it, so it is possible to do, and it would help our cap status for this year and next (I think he still has 2 years left on his contract?)

Yeah, let's lose some draft picks over Marco Rivera.

Copied this from Mickey: The Cowboys paid Rivera an $8.1 million signing bonus on his five-year deal. He's played two, meaning three-fifths of the $8.1 million, or $4.86 million, still needs to be accounted for under the cap. Now if he becomes designated for a June 1 release, the Cowboys can absorb $1.62 million this year and then the remaining $3.24 next year if he's released. Otherwise, for those of you counting how much is left under the cap, if released before June 1, he would count the $4.86 million all this year. So don't forget to allow for charges like these, along with at least $5 million for the draft when deciding how much is left to spend.

He might be better if healthy as a back up and mentor the
young guys.

Cut him, and let's move on. He's stole enough money from this organization.

Rivera needs to do something that doesn't involve the Dallas Cowboys. Like learn needlepoint.

Come on. Rivera had awful luck. No one can question his effort or work ethic. Just plain ignorant and disrespectful.

It could be possible that he was already hurt when he signed the contract. Who ruptures a disk on the treadmill?
