does anyone feel he will make a strong push to be on the roster next season? if he does make the roster, how well will he do? Will he be a DE or a DT?

He's a DE. I was hoping he'd be better than Stephen Bowen. Now I'm thinking we need better than Canty.

I was actually kind of impressed with Bowen this year. He started off slow, but it seemed to me that down the stretch he started stepping up more.

Any recent updates on Marcus?

The news about him seemed to stop once the season started.

his story was a positive one....at least the part about him overcoming injustice and trying to make a good go of his life.....

there is no place in valley ranch for positive news.....everything must be doom and gloom and soap operaesque

So is he going to try out Cowboys?

I wish someone will give him a chance in the NFL.

I think they are reasonably up about him last I heard. He's still listed as being on the PS. I'm looking forward to seeing how well he does in TC this year.

i guess you missed the 2008 training camp huh? he has been on our practice squad all season

if he works hard, could see him possibly being part of the DE roation next yr depending on how the draft falls...

yeah i'm hoping he does well this offseason and makes a push for the roster....

i think last year there was no chance b/c he had missed a lot of football while dealing with that legal issue....and he came from a small school after that....

i bet the year on the practice squad and a full offseason will do wonders for him, at least i hope so....after seeing his story i really want him to succeed, and preferably as a Cowboy.

Sorry didn't know. I don't keep up with training camps.

How good was Marcus in college when he faced decent competition? I'm still trying to decide if the hype around him has more to do with his story or his skills.

We don't have much to go on to judge Marcus Dixon. He sat on the practice squad all season. We will have to wait until training camp starts to get a sense if he has a shot or if he just another Tony Curtis. When does training camp start anyway?

Great question. I'm anxious for training camp and preseason to find out.

I saw the other day where he was reassigned to the PS for next seasson.

Every team has a few Marcus Dixons every training camp. That young, raw, talented prospect from a small school. Loads up "potential". Yada yada yada.

Dixon stood out because of his back story - not because of his actual play.

I doubt he'll do anything at all.

Good to hear.

They must see something worth trying to develop. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see he's a long shot but I wouldn't write him off either.
