Yeah. That was in Peter King's opinion. I don't think Mariota would really feel that way.

I'm sure he isn't. Put an elite QB on the Jets roster right now. Are they a perennial loser? No.

I didn't say they were or would be.

I guess King thinks otherwise. Maybe due to Ryan, I don't know.

an elite prospect doesn't get to choose where he goes, but an elite NFL QB isn't going to willingly play for that perennial loser.

No elite prospect gets to choose where they play. They play for who drafts them. Which will more than likely be a really bad team. So you're striking out on any point you think you're making.

You can go on and on and on speaking nonsense. All elite players should welcome playing in the New York market. Particularly a QB. Have fun trying to pretend otherwise.

And the notion that an elite QB prospect isn't going to want to play for what has been a perennial loser is laughable. It's so idiotic that it should be removed from the board to protect our reputation. Mariota would love to play for the Jets.

I'm not sure what argument you think you're having.

Mariota would love to play for the Jets. Because he'll see himself as the guy who can turn the team around.

It's called pride. Look up the word.

you seem to relish arguments that can't be won, and since you are incapable of reading the mind of another human being, I will just point out what a dufus you are and move on to the next point.

oops, you don't actually have another point...except the one on top of your head.

Yes, way to school me on nobody would want to play in the New York market.

Lesson learned.

I said an elite NFL qb will not choose to play for the Jets.

you keep bringing up draft prospects. did the last two qb prospects change the ways of the perennial loser jets?

Just to point out but yeah every once in an while an Elite QB does in fact choose not to play for the team that drafts them.

John Elway and Eli Manning both made sure they did not play for the team that was planning to draft them.

It's very rare but it does in fact happen.

What you said isn't relevant to this situation. Mariota is not an elite established NFL QB. I keep bringing up draft prospects because, ya know, Mariota is a draft prospect, genius.

right, he is just a prospect, like the last two they tried. that didn't solve their perennial loser status.

an actual elite NFL QB would, but he isn't going to go their voluntarily.

I just rehashed post #23 that went over your head. maybe you can actually comprehend it this time.

I'm not high on Mariota. Good kid by all accounts and I'm pulling for him. But he isn't a pocket passer. Gotta be able to stand in the pocket, go through progessions quickly, and make an accurate throw if you're going to have sustained success in the big boys league.

Well..

His draft stock took a hit tonight. No doubt about it. Not "fall to the 27th pick" bad, but it definitely took a hit.

IF he decides to go pro (which before this game seemed like a no-brainer), I don't see him being a top 5-10 pick like he was before this game. He has some serious questions about his ability to throw accurately from the pocket.

IF he goes pro, and IF he starts to slide down during the draft... Well, you know what I'm getting at.

Would you pull the trigger, or say no thanks? I don't see any way this happens personally, but I never take anything off the table with Jerrah at the helm, especially is he starts to slide.

And for what it's worth, I think Mariota's ceiling at the next level is a slightly faster Alex Smith.

...Therefore, we should draft him. :D

-When a reporter told him that he had heard he grew up a big Cowboys fan, Mariota responded:

"Yes, that is true. I grew up loving the Cowboys." He said he had posters of the Cowboys on his wall and even had a Dallas Cowboys bed-spread as well. Mariota went on to say that playing for them would be "Awesome" and "A dream come true for me."

(Fast-forward to the 2:22 mark in the video in the link below for the clip)

Anyways, he's already my favorite prospect to take over for Romo, but this just seems like a perfect fit to me. Mariota is only 20 and will be 21 when he comes out next year. That would be perfect for him to sit and learn the system for a couple years before taking over. And, we wouldn't have to change the system because it fit his skill set well. I doubt it happens, but I'd be a happy Cowboys fan if it did.

Sit him and learn for a couple of years idk we need help defensively asap
