Brewster plus a 4th?? Or is that insane to assume? Monday Fantasy GM: Cut Barron, sign Kris Brown or Matt Stover. Trade Brewster plus a 4th for McNeil. Our OL for Chicago: LT McNeil LG Kosier C Gurode RG Davis RT Free (swing T Colombo)...we would go from a bottom 5 OL to a top 10 OL overnight...

lets see if Colombo comes back this week or see what Brewster can do before making a move. Might not have to give up anything.

That is as big a fantasy as Peyton Manning for a 7th.

If we could get him and not give up a draft i'd be all for it but at this point i'd role with what we already have.

I think if Colombo doesn't get back to Colombo status than just go ahead and start Sam Young.

He is the future imo so might as well start the future now.

All I know is Alex Barron better be cut after last night. Thats such an easy decision imo.

It would take way more than that for Marcus McNeil. They would probably go for a 2nd and a 3rd or MAYBE a 2nd and a 4th. Why would they want Brewster? The guy hasn't shown anything.

McNeil is also in a contract year...just like Free. What if we trade for McNeil? The guy wants to get paid. Are you going to pay McNeil AND Free? That's a lot of money right there. Plus McNeil has back problems as well.

Cowboys are plenty under the salary cap. Money shouldn't be a concern if you really want to make it to the Super Bowl.

Ummm...I don't think it's that big of a stretch!

Why not make the call if you're Jerry?? The will be a lockout next year, so we
d be 2 years older on the OL! It's all about THIS YEAR! A top tier LT would solidify our chances...hell, I'd do a 2nd and Brewster, if that's what they required...wouldn't do a 1st though.

We said all these same things about getting a #2 receiver and then Jerry went and did it and while everyone was happy about it then we still bash him for it now.

Jerry can't make this move because of what will happen if it doesn't work out.

I feel it would be a quick decision, just like when Jerry made the trade for Roy Williams. It's not a smart move for the future. You have to give up multiple draft picks for the guy, AND sign him to a long term deal, when he has injury concerns. And if you trade for McNeil, you're basically giving up on Brewster AND Sam Young, who the coaches like a lot. A trade for McNeil isn't going to happen IMO.

If I were the Cowboys, I would sign McNeil right now, if at all possible.

In my really angry state last night I probably would have traded a first round pick for McNeil to put him at LT and move Free to RT.

And that has zero to do with Free at LT, who really impressed and pleased me there last night, and everything to do with that useless RT we have as a backup.

He can't do it because of the Roy Williams trade.

First off, after last nights show McNeil's price would have just went up for the Cowboys.

I seriously doubt the Cowboys trade for McNeil. What we've got to trade they don't need. Running backs. At that, I doubt they want Barber and his contract and thats the only RB I trade.

The thing I see here is that Colombo's physical issues are going to continue. It's a degnerative thing, I believe. As he plays more, the injuries are going to continue. If that is the case, it's likely that we are going to have to spend a draft pick either way. Could be draft a player, the caliber of McNeil, in the upcoming draft for cheaper then we could trade for him? I think we could probably get McNeil for a 2nd or 3rd. I don't know that we could draft that player for the same price. The problem with us is that we don't invest high picks in OLs.

I doubt it NYC. San Diego is facing a situation where McNeil is willing to sit out indefinately, according to McNeil. San Diego doesn't need a RB. They need WRs. Jackson is suspended for 3 games. San Diego loves big WRs. A guy like Roy would fit their offense perfectly. I don't know about the numbers on a deal like that but I'd imagine that if you were talking about player for player, there might be interest there. I don't know but it would be interesting to see.

We might be able to get him for a 3rd but only a high 3rd which we "might" be headed towards this season.

We should trade for McNeil and Mankins. I don't care how it's done. Just do it!

I think a 3rd and a player of need might be reasonable. Depends on what somebody else might offer.

I think you have to wait and see how Colombo does next week. If the results aren't good, you panick and do whatever it takes to fix the position.
