Marcus McNeil

We should trade for McNeil and Mankins. I don't care how it's done. Just do it!

And if they don't pan out here than you same people who wanted this done will bash Jerry for it.

We've been down this road and Jerry can't make this move because of trades for guys like Roy Williams.

The Chargers would die laughing as they'd hang up the phone on Jerry. It will take no less than a #1 pick ( and then some ) to land McNeil, who's one of the premier LT in the league at 27 years of age.

and that's IF they're willing to move him, which going by all the reports I've read, they're not. Of course, they could be blowing up smoke to scare him into signing the tender, but even if they're willing to move him, the bidding won't start at less than a #1 pick.

First off, after last nights show McNeil's price would have just went up for the Cowboys.

I seriously doubt the Cowboys trade for McNeil. What we've got to trade they don't need. Running backs. At that, I doubt they want Barber and his contract and thats the only RB I trade.

Chargers ain't going to get him on the field this year anyways so throw a 2nd or even 3rd rounder their way and they'd probably jump all over it

I doubt it NYC. San Diego is facing a situation where McNeil is willing to sit out indefinately, according to McNeil. San Diego doesn't need a RB. They need WRs. Jackson is suspended for 3 games. San Diego loves big WRs. A guy like Roy would fit their offense perfectly. I don't know about the numbers on a deal like that but I'd imagine that if you were talking about player for player, there might be interest there. I don't know but it would be interesting to see.

I think they would take Roy Williams if it weren't for his contract. This is the same reason why they won't sign McNeil in the first place!

It's about the money.

Plenty of teams throw young o linemen into the fire. We need to just put Brewster or Young out there and go with it if Columbo can't go. I'd rather have a guy who has to go through young player hard knocks than the most penalized O-lineman in the entire NFL starting. Especially when he's proven that his play and attitude WILL and now already has cost us big.

I think it's about how much money, not necessarily money, if you get where I'm going here. I do think that Money could be an issue with Williams, but I don't know for certain because I don't know where they are at with McNeil in this regard. I mean, if the money on the two players were close or just a little apart, not saying they are cause I don't know, then it might be something they would consider.

Yeah, SD will take no less than a 2nd and a decent player. For example, Tashard Choice and a 2nd round pick might get Mcneil. SD really doesn't have a backup to Matthews. I know they have Sproules but if Matthews gets hurt he cant take the 25 carry a game beating.

In my really angry state last night I probably would have traded a first round pick for McNeil to put him at LT and move Free to RT.

And that has zero to do with Free at LT, who really impressed and pleased me there last night, and everything to do with that useless RT we have as a backup.

I couldn't even play MWF last night. I was getting owned because I kept thinking about that sorry excuse for a game.

This team needs help along the OL a heck of a lot more than it needs a 3rd RB who barely sees the field other than a WC snap or two a game. I'd do it. I love TC but RB can be had easily in the draft, especially the ones we'd expect to fulfill a 3rd RB's role.

We said all these same things about getting a #2 receiver and then Jerry went and did it and while everyone was happy about it then we still bash him for it now.

Jerry can't make this move because of what will happen if it doesn't work out.

I've already used this logic, it doesnt work here.

Just imagine the outrage if Jones were to actually do a deal for somebody like mcneil, and then the guy had his career cut short because of the health issue he currently has, which everyone knows about.

Why would you want Kris Brown as the kicker? He was terrible last year. You are ready to judge Beuhler as a bad kicker based on one single kick. Yet you think Brown is better even though he had a bad year. And last year was not Brown's first bad year. He has been at best an average kicker during his career.

I say cut Barron and start Brewster. At least Brewster has heart and he's actually better (Well maybe, lol..):laugh2:

Brewster plus a 4th?? Or is that insane to assume? Monday Fantasy GM: Cut Barron, sign Kris Brown or Matt Stover. Trade Brewster plus a 4th for McNeil. Our OL for Chicago: LT McNeil LG Kosier C Gurode RG Davis RT Free (swing T Colombo)...we would go from a bottom 5 OL to a top 10 OL overnight...

I'd trade for Portis and start him at RT.

Jerry really screwed up not going younger earlier on the OL. Our age has finally caught up to us.

Um. We tried. Jacob Rogers? Stephen Peterman? Robert Brewster? Doug Free?

That's two tackles, an offensive guard, and whatever position Brewster is (right now, OT).

We just whiffed on some picks... otherwise, there would be some youth.

So... blame the picks/people responsible for the picks. But we've made attempts.

I think Brewster is better... The more he played the better he looked.

I hope you're being sarcastic.

When SD put him on the non-tendered inactive list he can't play for ANYONE for the first 6 weeks.
