Peters came into the game against the Kansas City Chiefs with 11 missed tackles ... and he added several more to that count by the end of Sunday's 31-17 loss. Peters' efforts were reportedly a source of growing frustration among Raiders coaches, who had picked up on this trend against the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears.

I guess not common you see a vested veteran waived after the trade deadline, thought it worked similarly but think you're right.
