Michigan State edge rusher Marcus Rush "will be drafted earlier than originally predicted," reports TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.
"Setting aside the fact his pro-day results were much better than scouts expected, Rush has blown teams away during the interview process," Pauline wrote. "His willingness and ability to be asituational defender in a variety of schemes could push Rush into the fifth round." At the aforementioned pro day, Rush clocked a 4.68 in the 40 with a cool 1.59 10-yard split, adding 24 reps on the bench, a 34 inch vertical jump, a 9-9 broad jump, and a 3-cone time of 6.73. I've studied him a bit. I don't know where he fits in this defense. His combine weigh-in was 6-2, 247. That's very borderline size to play DE and he doesn't appear to have the frame to get much bigger.

He is probably a better fit as a 3-4 OLB.
