Is it me, or did we see a lot of Ratliff at nose, Hatcher at DE? I think spears came back in on some situations, but for the most part, I PRAY that the era of Spears is over. Again, he did nothing all that great.

I thought for a little bit that he made that sack, considering he got up to dance and Madden said it was him - but then on replay we found that it was actually Ratliff who broke through (stat lines confirm).

So finally, do I have to stop waiting on spears to do something?

I would like to see Hatcher start and move Spears into NT with Ratliff. I know you can't do it all at once, but I'm not seeing it with Spears at DE...

To this point I'm disappointed in Spears. He looks to have more of a NT body now.

I was disappointed with spears at midseason last year. By now I just think it's silly. DT might be a good thing, but the guy just doesn't release the run for the pass - never has.

I liked what I saw from Hatcher - he was MUCH more athletic out there. Lot of plays he actually went back into zone coverage, something Spears can/will NEVER do.

spears has always wanted to play heavier...hey big boy load up to 320 and clog the middle.

I agree...Hatcher is so much more active. Even Ratliff at DE is much more active then Spears.

im agreeing that moving Spears to NT would be a benefit to him and the team. he's good at stopping the run and hes obviously got the size so yea him moving to NT would be a solid move! still we need more depth at NT especially later in the year. getting Tank would solve that as he would play if we signed him now around week 10 or 11...

He's solid at stopping the run, but I still don't know how affective he would be at playing NT. He just doesn't seem to collapse the pocket at end, I'm not sure how that would change being doubled by a beefy center and guard.
