I think he should be a target at 28. I've seen almost every big name safety mentioned but him. Sparq winner, has game film to back it up (unlike Obi). Played tough competition.

Position fit: FS/S

Stats to know: Highest run-stop percentage of all FBS safeties in 2016. Second-highest tackle efficiency against run of all FBS safeties in 2016.

Wow impressive. Haven't heard much of him other than at the combine..He did have 5 interceptions last year right?

He is sneaky good. Probably has the best range of any of the FS yet never ever gets the "late first" hype talk.

I agree. One of those guys you wonder why he isn't getting more of a buzz. Melifonwu is seducing scouts with athleticism while Williams has been the better football player.

Another one I feel fits this description is Jarrad Davis. He's finally getting some recognition after his pro day today but that guy is a plug and play day 1 starter in the NFL. You can do a lot worse with a mid to late 1st round pick.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I like Williams. I'm not a Ute fan, but live in Utah and have watched most of his games. Why are we comparing him to Obi? Williams is a deep safety and Obi plays in the box. Both guys are studs. Obi will rightfully go much higher.

I love Davis. The injury concern is certainly there, however, and I'm not sure where LB ranks on the need list now. I wouldn't be mad at Davis, but would hope to find value at another position. Not that LB isn't a need, but it's easier to mask than pass rush/secondary.

Yet Williams run stops were better than Obi. ThevPackers have had two free safeties for years and they do fine without the (box guy).

We only have Lee and a bunch of prayers behind him

True. But it's the least important level of a defense these days. It's certainly a need. But so are DE, CB, SS, RT--DE and CB being the biggest. If a LB is the clear BPA, I hope they draft one at 28. If not, I hope they wait.
