So many people have lamented his departure, I thought they would be interested in the possibility of reacquiring him next year.

Torrie Who?
The Bucs have never returned a kick in team history. Ok, everyone knows that and I am sure they are sick of hearing every broadcaster get into a discussion about at least once every game. The Bucs thought they had finally found their man in Frank Murphy who had returned a kickoff for a touchdown for them in a 2002 preseason game. Murphy got off to a great start averaging 26.0 yards per return, but then a torn Achilles tendon sidelined Murphy. So the Bucs turned to CB Torrie Cox who had missed his whole rookie campaign because of reconstructive knee surgery. Cox got off to a great start by returning his first kickoff for 59 yards. Cox has continued racking up big numbers and currently leads the NFL by averaging 26.7 yards per return. Cox has not only impressed coaches with his return ability but he has also been able to turn heads at the corner position. The Bucs signed free agent CB Mario Edwards this off-season hoping he would solidify the nickel cornerback position. Edwards has done nothing but disappoint. He was benched with a chest injury for the game against the 49ers and Cox again made a splash play in his debut. This time by picking off a Tim Rattay pass intended for Rashaun Woods and returning it 55 yards for a touchdown to seal the victory. With the emergence of Torrie Cox look for the Bucs to release the underachieving Mario Edwards whose salary skyrockets from $8.75K to $3.325M next year.

It's only speculation that he'll be released of course, but evidently he hasn't exactly earned his keep there.
