FSU EDGE/DL Mario Edwards Jr. is scheduled to visit the Cowboys and Bears, according to Aaron Wilson.
CBS Sports' Jason la Canfora added he has a hard time seeing the Nole make it out of thetop twenty picks. That is surprising. "Speaking to an AFC College Scouting Director about Edwards, Jr. at a workout, he raved about his athleticism &movement skills for his size," Bucky Brookstweeted. Edwards was not good for FSU last year, but dropped around 20 lbs since the season. It would purely be an "upside" selection. Apr 13 - 11:18 AM

If these reports I'm seeing are right, He's going in the 1st now supposedly? I really, really can't express how much I hope it's not the Cowboys who do that. I actually saw him at 15 to SF in a PFT mock. Hopefully some team picks him before us and pushes a player down.

He was supposedly going in the second but he's skyrocketed up mock drafts. I rather him in the second and not the first.

Yeah I'd rather have just about everybody they are linked to in the second instead of the first.

Agreed! Wonder if we end up trading back in rd one to early two then use the extra picks to move up from 60 and land two of our targets

Does this scare anybody:
Edwards was not good for FSU last year?

It scares me.

I don't think he's a good fit for a 4-3. Strikes me as a 3-4 DE.

It's all about his weight. When his weight is under control he's very good and explosive. He'd be a great guy to man left end then slide inside on passing down.... The thing is if he can't keep his weight down when he's trying to get paid can he keep it down once he is paid.... I think it could be managed, workout bonuses and the such.

Carried too much weight last year, not a big fan but maybe a loss of weight allows him to regain his form.

I don't see it with him, especially not as a 4-3 DE. I guess if he has really lost 20 pounds that could change things, but he just doesn't seem that quick twitch to me.

He probably wouldn't be expected to be a "pure" 4-3 DE.

I'm guessing the weight he put on was bad weight. They're probably looking to put a good 10 pounds on him, not a bunch of fat, and use him as an interior pass rusher.
