Marion Barber is a worse contract extension than RW1

What a waste of money- guy stands on the sidelines doing nothing at all - all he can do is pass block, his running ability is all but gone, he can't cut or make people miss. The last big run from him? I can't recall, he used to catch passes too now he counts his change- $46 million! You can blame JJ all you want but the man has paid these stiffs major coin for no return.

Every single carry that he gets is a waste. Even if he gets 5 yards up the middle, I wonder how many yards were lost by having Barber run it there instead of Felix or Tashard.

Same way I felt in '07 whenever Julius Jones got the rock. It's an absolute travesty that Choice hasn't gotten more touches this year.

Guys once again worrying about a billionaire's pocket book. They're contracts aren't stopping us from signing anyone and they sure aren't the reason why we're 1-5. But I agree on Barber. I love the guy. I love his heart. But if they can't give Choice carries unless Barber is gone than Barber needs to go. I wish we'd find a way to give all 3 carries like the Giants did with their 3 backs but that isn't going to happen it seems.

In regards to Barber he's never been a make a guy miss type of runner. He was the physical runner. He was the grab the guys facemask and ram him to the ground runner. If i'm not mistaken they no longer let guys do that correct?

But since Barber is going nowhere this season he can pick up a blitz unlike Gronkowski. Hell i'd rather Barber be our fullback than Gronkowski.

The Patriots are 5-1 with Danny Woodward and Ben Green Ellis splitting carries. Marion isn't the problem with this running game. The problem is that ever since BP left we've our organizational philosophy has turned finesse and we don't ever draft trench players with Day 1 picks. When your bread and butter running play comes from the shotgun and you're spending 1st round picks on 3rd WRs and part time role RBs, you're officially a finesse team.

How is a weak running game at the bottom of the list? I think that should be at the top of the list. Any solutions are needed.

The running game looks just as week when Barber isn't in the game. Thus he becomes the convenient scapegoat to blame things on that aren't his fault.

Everyone clamoring that Felix Jones would be some Pro Bowl stud if only he got the opportunities instead of Barber ... he's been the feature starter the last two weeks getting the vast majority of touches. How has he looked? He's looked pretty ordinary to me.

Oh, well, if only Tashard Choice got those carries, then ... then all those problems would be solved.

This offensive line is terrible in the run game.

However, when it did open up running room, Barber wasn't getting the yards that Jones would have tallied.

Look at the 2009 Giants game at home last year, and look at Felix Jones' numbers in that game and compare them to Barber's. Look at the gaping holes for Barber. There was a long Barber run that Jones would have doubled the yardage on, at least, and probably taken to the house.

Dallas should have traded Barber for a pick when it had a chance to do so.

Now, they will pick at the top of the draft.

Barber is as good as cut..

I think he's saying that barber is not the reason we aren't running the ball. It's pretty obvious on film. Guys are getting met at the LOS constantly, especially over the last 3 games.

extending a RB is almost always a bad decision..especially one like marion barber who plays his physical style. RB is the easiest position to draft in the NFL

why dont we just blow up the whole team, every week seems a new player we want to get rid of.

Or lets go back from HD to when we all had small tvs and couldnt see which player sucked the worse.

One of the problems is that our offense is too predictable. Everyone knows were going to run it on 1st down so they have 8 man in the box. Then we get a short gain. Then when we have 2nd down its either a screen or a delayed draw. On 3rd down we pass it to either our TEs or throw short, quick passes.

Playcalling has everything to do why Barber is a mess. When every defense knows what were gonna do and who is going to get it, it makes it hard for runners to get the yards needed. This is because Garrett fails miserably to mix it up. No play action, no throwing deep to our gifted receivers, and we just play everything safe.

Our offense is made for big scores and big plays. Since Garrett has taken over, it has sputtered.

I can also blame the Oline for this mess as well. But that also stems back to Garrett who is supposed to be in charge of this offense completely. And what I find funny here is that people wants him to be our coach when he can't even coach the offense.....just simply amazing!
