Marist Liufau any future

I can see someone flipping a 7th for him, especially since he's under contract next year too.

I don't think it's a given that he gets cut if he can contribute on STs.
His stats are solid for 14 starts.

just needs to play more football.

once again you are wrong
he is one of our best ST players
teams value that
He played some good football at Notre Dame.

Would like to see his speed under 4.6 though. More ILB than edge. Needs the bulk.

He can cover. Long arms.

Solid stats for the 14 starts.

Basically ignored by Eber.

Hated by fans who want Barsham to take his spot.

No they're not, especially since it doesn't filter out ST.

But they still don't change the fact that those numbers don't account for things like missed assignments, gap integrity, poor angles, or poor coverage. They are just not relevant to his flaws.

If I’m not mistaken isn’t this DC # 4 for Liufau ? It would seem this is make it or break it year in Dallas and if he were offered contract 2 in Dallas next year it would seem to be a Sam Williams prove it nominal amount type contract .

As a Will LB you send on blitz packages try and devise ways to use speed to harass the QB . His coverage skills should not be bottom shelf maybe CP can squeeze some toothpaste out ? Another 3rd rounder hitting potholes in the road. Compare this pick to this years 3rd rounder out Michigan yes another LB . Seems night & day difference so far .
WHO????????????

Of course, but many more are not traded and I think you missed my point. Focusing just on ILBer and Edge which are his spots, our roster is easier to make than most at both spots. So if he has no value to us on defense he has no value to anyone other than on STs. No team is trading for him to be an ILBer or Edge and we aren't likely to trade one of our better STs guys and will instead make a cut down day decision on him if we think we can replace his STs value with a player who also has the potential to contribute elsewhere.
I get that logic

But LBs are so system specific... he may not fit what we want here, but that doesn't mean he doesn't fit a different team.

80 tackles isn’t bad.

Add in the sacks and the Pass knockdowns.

What are we looking for? 8)

Good point. Plus some other team may see him as an 3-4 ILBer (which he really is) while we for some reason no longer do

He’s a bust.

This is a question mark for me because you cannot evaluate any players based on last year's scheme.

I also think Micah saw this coming: the defense being bad.

And so he left, only to get the one injury that would slow his game, possibly permanently.

Ouch

It isn't good. But again, tackle volume is irrelevant to the point.

A) We don't know the context of those tackles - STs or on big plays against
B) That doesn't account for things like missed assignments, poor gaps, or poor angles.
Nothing wrong with Marist.

He’s been one of the ILB. Solid football player.

CP likely wants him pushed to Edge, so his pet pick Barham has a spot.

But Edge has a ton of players fighting for a spot.

Marist has a better draft profile than Barham though.

will be fun to watch this play out.

This what happens when a football GM and owner relies on a hidden GM, McClay, to sort out the challenges of competing in the NFL.

If you turn over coaches like burgers on a BBQ grill, see defensive coaches here, you are going to struggle to establish any sort system continuity or identity.

Parker may end up beng great, but we can't expect miracles as he is sorting out everyone's roles in yet again is another new defence.

I hate to say it, but where is the enduring football mind in this organization?
When the GM is no GM even Rowdy the Clown gets a say. Jimmy left the room a long time ago.

Hello sir.

I use the combine scores. Marist scored a 66. Barham 63

Both are nowhere elite.

Barhams score redlined on his production. He scored a 59.

Obviously Dallas had to know.

My biggest gripe with him was him early on trying to impose a big hit without wrapping up. It would usually end with a missed tackle, and him flying 5 yards into dirt.
Don't need a Roy Williams hit on special teams. Just get the returner down.
