First, you predicting injury from the start? I'm not at all.

The postings pointed to potential for strong growth with this very trio beyond a new leader, to the defense.

I'm not about to discount their youthful potentials. You?

This whole linebacker group, here and now, are a strength and good.

Point, if you are first discounting and talking them down, That is your contribution. But that is on you. I'll gladly wait and just see...not doubt.

An Offense Will Win This Game

I really do think both offenses will struggle in this game, but one of them is going to have to win this game.

I don’t think it will come down to a last possession or anything like that, but an offense that can find some rhythm in the second half and put their team up a couple of scores.

For all you betting folks out there, the O/U has been set at 42.5. I would take the under in that game. I think both defenses are just too good, and it is the first game of the season.

Not everything is going to click right away for either offense.

You know all teams can play this what if game... it's hilarious that you don't believe other teams that have the same problem. how deep does anyone's roster go ay any position, you expect no drop off ?? LOL umm ok delusional; like this is why our fan base doesn't seem to watch pother teams,

they are NOT deep where they can say no drop off on most positions unless they lucked out like us for instance Safety is deep , just worked out that way ...roster limits and salary cap dictate if there are injury's just suck it up move payers around and hope for the best you can bring guys back for short periods like Hitchens or Wilson types for in season needs. Its what the PS is for and not many teams are deep enough to not worry if their best player goes down at each position.

attrition is part of sports.
When did I every say other teams don't have the same issues? We aren't talking about other teams, we are talking about the Cowboys. I literally said this unit is young and high potential, I really like this unit overall. Reality is though that we have a veteran player in Kendricks with a 3rd round rookie behind him. I like Liufau too, but I simply think its unrealistic for him to step in and be a 3 down backer right away and he serves better as a rotational piece, which is true of most 3rd round rookies.

Linebacker is a tough position to fill midseason or else we would have brought in someone to actually replace LVE a year ago when he went down. Kendricks historically has been a pretty healthy player so it hopefully isnt even an issue.

I'm shocked my words there are that much of an issue for people but you're the 2nd person to critique so maybe there is something there for me to look at, but I dont get it. I'm just saying that Kendricks is probably the best LB addition this offseason for 2024. If he goes down the Cowboys are likely going to have to scramble to replace him.

Nope, I clearly said "IF Kendricks were to go down". Not a prediction at all,

There is a ton of youth and potential in this group, I never said otherwise. That still doesn't mean that the raw talent they have at the position is ready to step in. If your only goal here is complete Cowboy homerism that's 100% fine, but please don't quote my posts for trying to have actual football discussions beyond just face value.
and we're saying that most teams would have the same dilemma...ok captain obvious...

I never said other teams dont expect drop off when injuries happen, please dont insinuate that I ever did. What I'm saying is the Cowboys are likely a very rare situation where both backup LB spots are occupied by players who have never played a snap in the NFL. I'm very confident they are one of just a few teams, if any, who are in that situation. Going from a 10 year vet to a 3rd round rookie is likely to be a larger drop off than most other teams.
