According to Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon, LRMR Management Company formally dumped Manziel on Wednesday.
"We've decided to end our formal business relationship with Johnny," LRMR CEO and co-founder Maverick Carter said, per Vardon. "I will continue to support and advise him as a friend. However, because Johnny needs to focus on personal growth, the next phase of his career and because LRMR continues to expand beyond marketing, we made the mutual decision that it was best to terminate our business relationship."
Citing sources, Vardon reported Wednesday's move was a "natural progression" for LRMR since the agency has been seeking to downplay endorsements and focus more on James' "broader business deals."
"I’m more concerned with him individually," James said Wednesday when pressed about his business relationship with Manziel, per USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt.

Who's us? I've been wanting nothing with him since he was getting drafted. Plus he's an aggie.

Us as in a significant portion of cowboyszone. I think the majority of us are sensible, and want nothing to do with him, but there more than a few who want him here.

Wow...everyone seems to want no part of this guy, except us...

It is ridiculous. If he was in this years draft he wouldn't be a "box" player. Which is what they call the undraftable morons. He would be a box in the box, in a bigger box player!

It all depends.

He would need the type of environment to be allowed to get treatment and time to learn the position.

He came out early and that is something he needs to catch up on.

Given the timetable before he will be needed..

Its a fit.

And as long as his contract is not a #1 pick cap slot..that would be a fit.

And I think if you have Moore as our 3rd QB that's a reasonable thing, too. So let him and Manziel fight it out for #2.

Nothing wrong there.

If after a season or 2 Manziel regresses..

we can afford to move on.

If he progresses..we make the decision to pay him as he should be paid.

Again, this reasoning is looking at the back-up QB situation in a vacuum. We have the #4 pick and even if we do not use it on a QB, odds are at some point in the early rounds we will. Bringing in Manziel/RG3 means we are in essence trying to develop 2 QBs at once and in actuality, they both would need every available rep to improve. Getting a "free look" at either QB ends up not being free, because it costs us the opportunity to take a QB this year.

I understand your points.

I go back to what is being said by Jones and Romo.

If the thinking is with his shoulder surgery he is going to be around another 3-5 years..

then that means we are NOT drafting a QB with our #4 pic.

Which means the investment in the position will come thru FA to me. Even if its not this year that we find our FA QB.

Whether we like it or not..Romo is the starter and until he shows he can't win anymore..

not that he gets injured and misses some games..

he's here to stay.

So as a fan I have other hopes..but we don't write the checks.

Me..I follow the money and that means Romo.

Moose Johnson recently went on record, saying that JFB would struggle in Dallas because the spotlight is so much bigger than Cleveland.
He would therefore have an even harder time staying out of trouble.

He also thought RG3 would be a better fit with the 'Boys.

...and Moose's logic was sound. Problem is, sound logic doesn't always prevail in Dallas.

Write this down, Romo with not be playing at a high level beyond the next 2 years, even that might be a stretch

There is a reason 36 year old QBs don't win SBs , body breaks down. We need to learn from NFL history not ignore the obvious.

We need to plan for the future and if this pitiful season is to count for anything let's pick our QB for the next 10 years

Many of us would tend to agree with you.

But this has been going on since the Tripets retired.

That's over 20 years ago.

It hasn't changed except when Quincy Carter was drafted..

and we know how badly that ended.

So I just don't see us drafting the next Troy Aikman.

Jerrah won't do it.

He wants to win now.

Why stick with Garrett then? :D

Obviously..

He thinks Garrett is the best chance to get the most out of Romo..

Never said it was the right approach.

Just that it won't change.

If a 4 win season doesn't do it..

if our QB being injured 2 out of 3 years and not making the playoffs isn't enough..

tell me what will it be?
