As a lifelong Cowboys fan I have weathered the constant abuse throughout my school years and adulthood living in South Jersey/Phila area. I recall the 1980 NFC Championship game and dreading going to school the next day, the Buddy Ryan years and also the torment of the last few Xmas season losses, all driving my hatred of the Eagles escalating more and more.

I have enjoyed my share of victories as well, savoring SB wins and regular season victories. But I should mention that I did not did so with any malice. Lets me also add that I detest Cowboys fans who become obnoxious jerks also. But alas, I find myself in a situation that becomes almost unbearable, I have married into a big time Eagle lovin family???

You cant imagine the abuse, what I find so amazing is that regardless of the situation, its total Dallas disgust, no othe team matters its Dallas abuse. My wife although not a fan, likes the home team and on occasion will bust my chops, I can "somewhat" deal with that. Being a fan of Dallas brings a certain amount of abuse or ball-bustin, no diffrent than Yankes or Red Sox.

I attend a family gathering for the game yesterday, with reservations my wife pleads me to "behave", dont start any crap, just take the ball bustin and laugh. I am cool with that, have no problem taking heat, love her family, good people, and my Boys let me down. But what I find amazing is the facination with always taking shots at Cowboys, the family all Bird lovers, blast BUck/Aikman, TO and Cupcake and of course Romo....excuse me does this have anything to do with the game??? anti-cowboy to the max...I gave some back, took it on the chin on the ride home, but c'mon.

No offense, but what women dont understand is the intense passion guys have for football, family aside, it runs deep....true fans, love their team, in a weird way its like a family member to them, they will argue, an fight for their point of view.

Good Lord I have to root for the Cardinals???? hope and pray, cant bear the next few months an eagle victory????

I know it's kinda sickening to root for the Cardinals, but in no way, shape or form can we let the Eagles win a SB, their fans would be unbearable!.

Would you like some french cries with your WAHmburger?

I mean...I get where you're coming from on this. I get my (proverbial) balls busted constantly by Giants fans. The more you show them that it pisses you off, the more they're going to harass you. Just pretend you don't hear them and they will eventually get tired of talking to themselves. I must assume that they're not trying to "abuse" you, they're just trying to have some fun. When they lose and the Cowboys win, whenever that happens, it will be your turn to bust balls. It's just part of being a football fan.

It's easy to root for Arizona. Why is that hard. I would love to see them win it all.

You would not have to hear anything irritating for the whole offseason.

It would be considered a fluke and no one would give them any airtime and if they did so what. The Cowboys have no one to blame but themselves for not being in this picture. One of the easiest roads to the Super Bowl ina long time and we self destruct.

Can you imagine the hoopla if Pittsburgh wins its 6th, Mcnabb wins one or the Great Ray Lewis and Ed Reed win another.

Arizona would be PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I'm in the reverse situation and I feel your pain. I've lived in the D/FW area since 1996, my wife's home town, and her family are all die hard Cowboy fans. I'm a Philly transplant and my family has held Eagles' season ticket going all of the way back to Franklin Field. Until recently her family had 8 season tickets to the Cowboys going back before the Jones era. Hell, my wife wore her Romo jersey for the game yesterday in an attempt to put bad mojo on the Eagles. Didn't bother me as Romo regularly brings nothing but misery for the Cowboys from Dec 1 on...

Here's the facts after living on both sides of the fence:
  • Cowboy fans are just as obnoxious as Eagle fans for the most part. I've had numerous Cowboys fans try to pick fights and throw beer at me while attending Eagle/Cowboy games at Texas Stadium with her family. On numerous occassions I've been shoved in the back in an attempt to pick a fight while walking down the ramps at Texas Stadium. I'm not lowering myself to that level and am usually with the in-laws so I just keep walking.
  • In every NFL city you attending fans from every walk of life. Some classy and others pieces of garbage. There's just as much garbage at the Cowboy games as there is at Eagle games.
  • ALL team fans boo their teams when they are bad. I've heard it just as loud in Texas Stadium as in Philly.

1 question for you.

Do Cowboy fans pee in the sinks and in the halls going to the bathrooms?

Never seen that anywhere except PHILLY.

Nah - I bet they'd actually mature a little bit. Think about it. Were you more uptight, or less uptight, about sex after you finally got some? Yeah boy, that's what I'm talking about...

Three comments.

1. Love is blind
2. Love certainly isn't THAT blind
3. This thread isn't good enough without pics because this woman has to be bewitchingly beautiful for you to say, "I do" and put yourself squarely in this situation forever. :)

Congratulations by the way. ;)

No flare guns, prison cells or courts set up at Texas Stadium. Eagle vermin will always be the worse.

Recent trivia question on the video board at a Washington Capitals hockey game:

Philadelphia is best known for:
1. Cheese Steaks
2. Liberty Bell
3. Worlds worse fans

No. 3 was the winning answer

You haven't realized that the rest of the NFC East & their fans are obsessed w/ everything Cowboys?! They'll always throw salt on our wounds and kick us when we're down b/c of all of the past success that we've enjoyed (I'm in a family loaded w/ Deadskin fans so I know the drill)!
