Marshall: "We won the game before it even started"

I remember being at the Vikings game and watching the teams warm up. Cowboys were closer to me, Vikings on the opposite side.

The Cowboys warmups looked like a bunch of peewee players. No organization, everyone just jogging around, doing their own thing. Meanwhile, the Vikings were running actually practice reps, people were hustling, etc.

We ended up winning the game but I remember being surprised at how unfocused our warmups were. It was just warm ups, so I took it with a grain of salt, but I certainly didn't see any urgency prior to kickoff.

Interesting stuff. Surprising, too. And sad.

Reminds me of when I went to training camp Parcells' first year when we were practicing against the Texans. There was a vast difference between us and them when it came to warmups. Our team was very regimented, even in stretching, while Capers' team was more like you described us being. It was also obvious how many fat and sloppy-looking guys they had, while we had almost none.

Who knows. The Cowboys looked scared last night. Marshall's words probably have some truth to them.

I live here and walked from my office to meet at friend who was in town from Ft. Worth. That 20 minute walk had my legs numb and I do a pretty good job of layering. No matter what people say it affects teams. Marshall was being mouthy but there was probably some truth to it.

Every single opponent we go up against just laugh at us. We are the laughingstock of this league.

Well Brandon, if you knew you had it before it started, how did if feel when we marched it right down your throat on the opening possession? And how did it feel when we tied the game at 14, with just over 5 minutes to go in the first half?

His contention is baloney. Even if he believed it and really meant it, it is baloney. We lost last night for one primary reason. We can't play defense.

The weather had nothing to do with the way this defense played. Its been the same disaster we've seen all

Well the team looked either scared or bored in the 2nd half. Even Mickey said that one team looked like they were playing for a division title and another team just wanted to go home.

You all can guess which team was which.

Whatever.

So it was tough to play in that condition..period.

Our team is not equipped to handle a game like that.

Next week is a different story.

We need to lick our wounds..fix what is broken and move on.

and continue to get better?

execute in all three phases?

gotcha

Yea, they really looked terrible when they came out and smashed it down the bears' throats.

This is something I would look for if I was at a game. What you've pointed out is very telling about JG. A good coach does not allow what you've described. You have to be focused. Often times you can predict the outcome of games by the warmup.
