I think this could benefit us in goal line situations like we had on the Dez TD against Detroit.

Put Bennett and Dez out wide and it gives the defense something to think about. Nobody would expect a run either.

only thing that would make them think is..."ha ha...why the hell is Bennett in there?"

This. Guys with 53 career receptions in 3 years aren't decoys. They are afterthoughts.

Im telling you right now that if oyu line Bennett and Dez on the same side defenses are going to have a problem. They are both likely to go up for a fade route. Just because he is a 2nd string Te doesn't mean teams do not notice him.

Uhh isn't Martellus always out there in our goal line situations? Seems like we always have atleast two tight ends out there.

Martellus should get a few more opportunities. I know we have a lot of talented skill postion players and only one ball to go around, but he has come through the few times he has been targeted this year.

What you want is for Dez to be on one side of the field by himself, not with another guy out there.

You want the defense to have to decide if they're going to roll a safety that way to help with Dez, or leave him 1 on 1 and risk getting out jumped.

The formation we used down there with trips on one side(Witten, Roy, Miles) and Dez by himself on the other side is the perfect formation for us to use down there.

If you actually go back and watch on both of Miles' TDs Roy was also open.

Yeah I would still use that formation too with Miles in the slot and replacing Bennett with Williams for decoy purposes.

You put a 6'7 guy out therel ike that and he will draw some attention and take some of the mental focus away from Dez and take a lot away from Austin in the slot, Witten @ TE, or a Run play.

I still think Martellus can do the jump ball thing too but for some reason Romo never would put the ball about 8 feet in the air.

Bennet's still striving to acheive decoy status. He's probably wearing a suit while travelling with the team so that's something.

Marty B has never given us any indication that he is a jump ball guy. So far he's shown that he can't get to the spot. Austin and Bryant have shown alot more "go get it" ability, hell so has RW11.

And I'm not believing you. Until he shows he deserves attention, he will be regarded as the least of the threats on the field and will be defended accordingly.

I like to think with his basketball background Marty B could do a bit of alley oop go up and get it mojo down there in the end zone, but the facts are success on those plays is all about ball tracking, timing your jump perfectly, and having hands of glue because you usually don't get to bring that ball into your body until you're about to hit the ground.

Dez is the first guy we should throw that route to if we're going to run it at all. Though I would probably use Marty B instead of Gronks as the FB on some of that goal line stuff. I guarantee if Phillips hadn't been hurt he'd be the guy in there at FB in those packages.
