Tight end Martellus Bennett and fullback Deon Anderson did not take part in Wednesday's practice, along with safety Ken Hamlin and right tackle Marc Colombo.
Bennett suffered a concussion Sunday vs. New York and Anderson has a bruised knee. Cornerback Terence Newman had an MRI on his knee but he took part in a full practice. Linebacker DeMarcus Ware took part in a full practice but the foot injury is no longer an issue, just the small fracture in his wrist.
Tight end Jason Witten (foot) and safety Gerald Sensabaugh (thumb) were full participants.
Back to Bennett for a second - with the new concussion standards established by the league last week it will be interesting to see if he is cleared to play Sunday. Here's the league's policy for a return:
"Once removed for the duration of a practice or game, the player should not be considered for return-to-football activities until he is fully asymptomatic, both at rest and after exertion, has a normal neurological examination, normal neuropsychological testing, and has been cleared to return by both his team physician(s) and the independent neurological consultant. A critical element of managing concussions is candid reporting by players of their symptoms following an injury. Accordingly, players are to be encouraged to be candid with team medical staffs and fully disclose any signs or symptoms that may be associated with a concussion."
