Sounds like a saynow number. The owner of the number can leave voice messages for everyone that calls in (or it can be linked to) to listen to and everyone else can leave messages for the owner of the number to listen to.

It's pretty cool really one of my favorite comics (Jim Norton) does it and it's pretty cool to have another level of interaction with someone you like.
