I hear Philly would like to trade their LT Justice for either Free or Marten!!!
Seriously, both of these guys were picked with next year in mind as Flozell may nat be back. Their time is next year. Have a little patience.

Stanback is way too athletic not to find a role on this team in the next few years. I hope next year that he gets to take some snaps, and potentially take the Seneca Wallace role for this team.

Carp and Spears are the only two who we can label anything right now, I hope I'm wrong but didn't Parcells want to take Spears with our 11th pick? BP fell in love with Carpenter, and although that was a weak draft class - I find it hard to believe that the man with the eye for the LBs couldn't notice that he wasn't ready for the NFL game.

If we hadn't had two picks we'd only have Spears and the reason we got Ware was that SD would have picked him.

Might want to put a couple carriage returns into you post since the invisible text shows on the front page when you hover over the link.

These guys are huge busts. They haven't even SNIFFED the field. What a waste.

Will people please shut the **** up about Stanback?

Agree 100%. We need to fire Jeff Ireland and rehire Linda Lovelace - whoops I mean Larry Lacewell - cuz Ireland is screwing up the team.

there is nothing wrong with Spears...all you people need to take the blinders off and watch him...he is doing some good things and is a big reason we've been good vs the run

I know that doesnt matter to alot of the crowd here, but stopping the run is huge in this league

Please, PLEASE tell me you are freaking joking about Marten and Free being busts. If you are not, then you are dumb as rocks.

Over the last ten or so years contributing on various message boards, one thing I always stand my ground on is patience with offensive linemen. That is one of the hardest positions to play as a rookie and contribute successfully.

IT TAKES YEARS FOLKS!!! YEARS!

Three years ago, nearly 90% of the posters wanted Andre Gurode on a Greyhound out of Dallas. Don't lie to me - I know I am right. I was about the only one in his corner.

What about other great linemen of Cowboys past:

Nate Newton - He didn't do squat until his 5th season. Then he went on to become one the all-time Cowboys greats.

Kevin Gogan - Very similar to Newton, but decided to venture into free agency, where he went to a few Pro Bowls himself.

Mark Teunei - Did not make a Pro Bowl until what? His 11th season?

Hall of Famer Rayfield Wright had a bit of an adjustment period, but circumstances were a little bit different with his case.

Don't you just love the way the Bears gave up on Colombo?

How was Ron Stone's career after he bolted from Dallas? Yeah, a ten-year career plus a few Pro Bowls.

How about outside of Dallas?

Dermonti Dawson - remember him? The long-time Steeler center from the 90s? The first couple of years, he was pathetic. Remember Dallas' 1991 Thanksgiving Day win 27-17 over Pittsburgh? Dawson was exposed bigtime that day. Now he has an outside chance of the Hall of Fame (and I believe he belongs there).

See, everybody expects offensive linemen to be dominant like a Tony Boselli, a Willie Roaf, or an Orlando Pace. These are rare exceptions to the rule.

The one offensive lineman I agree giving up on was Jacob Rogers. That is because he got exposed to a lacking of intestinal fortitude (IOW no guts).

I still disagree on giving up on Peterman so soon. The jury is still out on him in Detroit. I could be right or I could be wrong, but if he blossoms into a solid lineman, it will not surprise me.

But to go out and declare Marten and Free busts, when Dallas has one of the best offenses in the league, and getting a reputation for being nasty physical, is just TOTALLY MORONIC!

Marten came from Offensive Line University (also known as Boston College). He deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Doug Free came from a smaller school, but has shown flashes of brilliance.

Drafting these two guys DOES make sense to me as Jerry doesn't want another Tucker and Pettiti situation. Marten and Free will not be bagging groceries in a few years.

Parcells and Ireland built this team to where it is today. It is light years from the 5-11 Campo teams that were lucky to get 20 points a game in a few contests.

With the talent level vastly improved, young draftees will find it harder to get playing time. THIS IS A SIGN THAT THE TEAM IS GETTING BETTER!

Why can't some of you understand this?
