Illinois linebacker Martez Wilson visited the Dallas Cowboys this week, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

He also visited the Baltimore Ravens.

Seeing as how Dallas has positional needs that are considerably more crucial than ILB, I'd be reluctant to give up anything higher than our 3rd round pick for him. This article proclaims him to be a 1st round candidate but I've seen other evaluations that say Wilson's a 2nd to 3rd rounder. If he were to slide to the 3rd, I wouldn't hesitate to snap him up in a blink. However, our OL, free safety and CB needs cry out for relief first and foremost. Now, if someone manning those positions in the first and 2nd round were available to Dallas with comparable value to Martez's, I believe I'd feel compelled to consider them first. Gotta admit, you can't fault his productivity, though. I do like him.

I'm really not digging an ILB in the 2nd round, even though it is a need.

2009 draft...Jason Williams... Bust.. 7 defensive players drafted...

Get me an offensive linemen or a defensive linemen or a CB...

OL or CB could very well be the best value, imo.

I'd rather have Christian Ballard up front on defense, than an inside linebacker.

My opinion he is a Gholston/Carpenter kit, never lit it up like he should have in college, tests off the charts but plays pedestrian. My opinion just look at his numbers and he is average with lighting speed and size. Watch Sean Lee this year you will see we really have a diamond in that guy, now if we could find another, something like
KJ Wright OLB Mississippi St.
Mason Foster LB Washington
Brooks Reed LB/DE Arizona

If we feel Free is our man this is the plan:

First round DL/DE with trade back we can get a RTackle late in this draft first day or early 2nd day we are talking RTackle u just have to agree that is what and all we need.

2nd round LB/CB 40th pick
2nd round from 1st rd trade back RTackle or 1st third rd pick if that is what we receive.
3rd BPA
4th BPA

I don't have a problem with Martez, at the very leasts he could fill Bradie's roll. I don't know if ILB is an immediate need since we can, at the very least, pair Bradie with Sean Lee.

However, I think we could look at guys like Mark Herzlich, Alex Wujciak or Mike Mohamed to fill a similar role, even though they may not be as athletic.

I think we have greater needs to fill in the 2nd round.

Wilson ran a great 40 at the combine and has the prototypical size you want at ILB. Problem...he is stiff as a board.
Watched tape of this kid and running forward he is explosive but when he has to change directions he has tight hips and can't redirect quickly at all.
It showed in the lb drills at the combine also.

Wilson actually tested out better than majority of the linebackers in agility drills, which is a bit of a surprise.

I'm not in love with the player, but he couldn't possibly be any worse moving laterally than Bradie James, who turned out to be a pretty solid LB despite that glaring shortcoming.

Sounds like Bradie James scouting report minus the 40 time.

2010: White compiled 13 starts and 110 total tackles to lead the Bulldogs earning him First Team SEC honors.

Also had 15.5 TFLs including 6 sacks and 2 INTs.

Plays downhill and able to shed blockers in the hole and make tackles.

Great sense for the ball and quickness to get to the point of attack.

Good lateral movement.

Drops well in coverage.

Hard worker and good leadership.

I got him going in the 6
