He's a monster in the run game consistently powering the opponent backwards. The running game will benefit tremendously. We improved in that area last year and will be much better this year. Running the ball effectively takes time off the clock, keeps the defense off the field. So this is a great pick in multiple areas.

And scoring more touchdowns vs field goals. Taking time off the clock doesn't do as much if it's still resulting in field goals.

If the the team can more frequently go 14-0/14-3/14-6/etc, the opponent has to match TDs while also having fewer scoring opportunities. It changes the type of plays their offense will call and maybe diminishes our weaknesses.

It could also have a reduction in interceptions by keeping it on the ground more, reducing hurried throws, or allowing longer developing plays.

I dont know if the run game over all will do much as they seem to always forget to run.

However it SHOULD help in short yardage situations and goal line situations in the run game.

I think the coaches know now that they potentially have a great run blocking offensive line. If it pans out in training camp and pre-season, then they'll adopt the offense to fit the strength.
