Marty didn't drop the passes in the first half that Parker did. Marty didn't not frag his right foot on a perfectly throw TD pass in the 4th quarter. Marty didn't fumble a 4TH AND 5 pass and more than likely, game over pick and give it right back to the Patriots with 6 to go in the 4th. AND Marty didn't fumble on the one yard line back in the day, Byner did.
You can cite this excuse in any game. There is never a game that a person couldn't easily point to mistakes that players made. There is not a game that has sole evidence indicating a coach lost a game. And if you think you can find me one, I can easily show you a fumble, a missed field goal or some other mistake a player made and simply blame the player and not the coach.
Marty didn't lose this game. The players did. That being said, the Chargers' defense was lackluster today which Marty has a great deal of control over. We know Cameron calls the offense but the Marty actually has a lot of say in regards to the defense. Tom Brady's last minute drive at the end of the second quarter was unacceptable.
The reality is that Marty has great success in the regular season and chokes in the playoffs. When you repeat this type of pattern, it's not longer attributed to luck. This is a trend and Marty is ultimately responsible.
I wouldn't be suprised if he is fired.
