To be honest I think i'd rather have Escobar than Bennett's immature makeup. And you would think he would've matured by now if it wasn't for him hurting his 1st round pick in training camp this year intentionally.

But if it was one thing i'd take from it was his blocking. But in regards to the passing and catching game? He'd still be behind Witten just like Escobar is.

Yeah, the dude has really come out of his shell since he left. But given what he had shown while he was here, you can't really fault anybody for parting ways.

I think once Escobar has his shot in the spotlight, he is gonna tear it up.

He really hasn't though. He's just higher up the option list than he would've been here. He still would've been behind Demarco, Dez, Terrance and Witten and if he continues to drop passes in his rare appearances in the offense? I'd trust Beasley or Harris more than him on 3rd down. He'd literally be a better blocking EScobar in this offense.

He's a better receiver than Witten at this point...it's not really even close.

I don't disagree with that but as you can see there are games where Witten has 2 or 3 targets himself. Martellus would be a after thought in this offense. AT BEST he'd be Witten but he's not as reliable as Witten. Even to this day. He gets far more targets than he did prior to being with the Cowboys. HE hasn't gotten much better. Just more opportunity.

Yeah, I don't think we missed the boat on any of the TEs we've drafted. Nor is it a particular surprise that Maretellus can play in this league. That was pretty obvious from his time here. We just didn't have enough balls to go around, and his personality was *not* suited to being that kind of role player. Plus, he's a bit of an idiot.

That's a great catch, though. The concentration through the interference was impressive. The ball was right where he needed it, but he still caught it with all that going on.

Well I think his focus has gotten better - which was why he had some of the drops and mental gaffes in Dallas. But overall, yes, I agree.

Was always a Glgood player, just a mistake to draft him. There still aren't enough balls to go around to justifiy a 2 rd pick on a backup TE to one of the most productive TEs in NFL history.

He's still capable of having that mental lapse. Especially with the Giants. The guy is still immature. But to his credit he's lasted in this league. I didn't think he'd last this long. Never questioned his talent but his immaturity was always a concern. Its just far better for a player to get more looks and more options in a offense than it is to make doses in a offense. He wasn't capable of coming in and playing in doses like a Cole Beasley or even Escobar seems to be able to do. But i'll say this. No matter how immature he was he was a great blocker. Almost like having another tackle out there. Even when he was here I thought he was a better blocker than Witten.

I agree with all the above. Plus his team sucks lol. But yeah I never questioned his skill. I wasn't even upset that we drafted him when we did. People don't remember but Martellus was a very good blocker here and he had his role. I think everyone just envisioned more offense from him but it wasn't going to come in this offense.

I lot of people thought he was a rLreally Glgood player when he was here. You hear that a lot. But I just never really saw it.

Nope.

Because he'd be back up here, again, and he wouldn't be given the some options he's given as the starter in Chi-Town.

Which, BTW, I might add that he hasn't helped them translate into a better offense.
