That would be a demotion as far as I'm concerned.I have a friend who is an SEC ref. He's primed to become a NFL ref. Maybe now is his time?
It would. I told my son (who played college football) to talk to him. He's young enough to start at the bottom (at the high school level), then move to the college level, then NFL.That would be cool for him to become an NFL ref.
Just make them full time employees and pay them big salaries already
Where do I sign up?Sporting news reported they avg about 200k a year.
Plus most have careers/jobs that not only pay well -but allows tme flexibility\leeway in traveling to game sites. They make big salaries
Sporting news reported they avg about 200k a year. That’s pretty good money for watching grown men play a game
Maybe the refs heard about more fixing of games in coming season, and decided they did not want to be involved?Insert refs who used to work for gambling institutions.
I'd be the best ref Cowboys fans could hope for seeing as a whole lot of folks around here say they "just want a fairly called game." Well, that's exactly what I'd give them. I'm sure I'd be well-liked 'round here for giving the people what they want, right?
It is sensationalized journalism... like the phrase BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS12 is a mass exodus???
The refs probably don't want itIt amazes me this isn't already a thing. It's almost too incompetent to believe it's not intentional. Way too much money goes into the sport for reffing to be a side gig. Year round training and rotating through teams to teach would only make for a better product.
