I saw a statistic yesterday while watching one of the games. There are 10 starting QBs this season that are either rookies or 2nd year guys.

  1. Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill
  2. Cincinnati Bengals: Andy Dalton
  3. Cleveland Browns: Brandon Weeden
  4. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck
  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Blaine Gabbert
  6. Tennessee Titans: Jake Locker
  7. Washington Commanders: Robert Griffin III
  8. Minnesota Vikings: Christian Ponder
  9. Carolina Panthers: Cam Newton
  10. Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson

That is almost 1/3 of the entire league. That is a lot, especially considering you are talking about the QB position. One of the hardest positions to fill.

If you add 3rd year players too, you add Sam Bradford and John Skelton into the mix.

I thought that was pretty interesting. Are we going to have another 1983 year where several HoF QBs came out in the same year?

Add to that, you have a couple of rookies who are the #2 on their team.

Philly - Foles
Denver - kid from AZ State
Wash. - Cousins

With Barkley, Wilson, Landry coming out next year makes me wonder if our 2nd round pick will be a QB to groom behind Romo.

Only team I can think of that "needs a QB" is Arizona, maybe Buffalo is Fitz sucks, but they just signed him to a big deal last year.

Add Cleveland to that.

I think teams are starting to take more chances on young guys instead of passing around retreads like they had in the past as well.

After yesterday, you may be correct.

I think as long as Mike Holmgren has/is apart of the Browns, they will be on that list. He has terrible talent recognition.

Looking at his Seattle drafts, Holmgren was pretty bad. Haven't studied his Browns tenure yet, but nothing super impressive leaps out at me.

I think you can start with the 28yr old QB he drafted in the 1st rd. Then take a look at all the WR busts he drafted.

I gotta say, drafting a WR bust is quite easy to do. Actually, it's probably the easiest position to draft a bust for. You basically draft a big physical freak and pray he has the smarts, mentality, and drive to be the best.

No coincidence that all of those teams are not very god teams :laugh1:

You can bet at least half of them will most likely be looking for "their guy" again in a year or two.
