Mat McBriar Leading all punters

With all the hoopla taking place lost in all of that has been the play of McBriar. The guy has been outstanding this year leading the NFL in average per game with 50.2 yards. He also has the longest punt of the season booming a 75 yarder and has 10 punts he has put inside the 20. I would love to see him make the Pro Bowl this year if he can continue performing as he has. The guy has been a big help to our defense.

During the game Madden has said McBriar has a chance to break the all time NFL record with his 50.2 yard avg per game.

It's funny really .. my dad asked me at the beginning of the year, who was the best player on the team. He asks me that every year because I usually point out the players to him that impressed me that aren't yet stars. I responded with "Mat McBriar" .. he asked, "who is he?" I said, "the punter."

He assumed we were in for a long season by me saying that .. You have to understand though that he was a big Ray Guy fan so I told him Mat McBriar being our best player did not mean the team was in for a long season necessarily. Just that he was really really good at punting

He has been impressive nailing some big time punts to help change the field position around. The 75 yarder was a thing of beauty. I have seen guys hit poor punts and get a great bounce that ended up making the punt yardage very good but on McBriar 75 yarder that was killed by him
