He coached under Rob Ryan for 4 years in Cleveland and Dallas. He was basically his "right hand man" evidence by him running some of Ryan's defensive meetings last year if you believe the rumors. Do you think he will come in handy this week seeing that he should know all the intricacies and weaknesses of Ryan's defense?

I think Garrett saw plenty of Ryan's gameplans to get a good feel of what he's going to do Sunday night without asking Eberflus.

From training camps to a couple of seasons worth of strategizing with him on the next week's opponent to seeing how much he leaned on Eberflus and tape of this season.

He's got plenty of intel.

Now- are we going to kill some chickens on the 50 yard-line, or what?

Well I think Eberflus is a heck of a coach. He could provide and advantage due to his familiarity. Most people believe that Marinelli will replace Kiffin in the near future. However, I believe Eberflus has just as much of a chance to become the Cowboys' next defensive coordinator.

Yeah I think the Cowboys have the upper-hand in this situation.

Everyone already knows what we're going to run and what our strengths and weaknesses are anyway, so how is Rob Ryan on the other side going to make much of a difference.

But for once, we've got a pretty big inside scoop on the opponent.

On the other hand, Ryan went up against Garretts offense for 2 years in practice. He knows the strengths and weaknesses. He knows the o-line does a poor job of run blocking. THe interior of the line is soft at the guard spots. I think all this inside baseball stuff balances out in the end.

Bottom line is that Brees will rip this defense apart just like Eli, Peyton and Stafford did. The only question will be if the offense can keep up. I don't think they can.

Good observation and something I had not thought of.

I would not be opposed to this at all...

If Marinelli were to leave first. He would be plan 1b.

I think Payton/Brees is the big concern. If they can slow them down Ryans D will struggle. Also Robbie seems to struggle in personal games. Last year against the Browns, 0-5 vrs his Bro.
