Excited to get to Dallas tomorrow. Meet and learn from the vets. Been feeling left out

I can't wait to see if this kid can help us. There's a real shot we stole this one. As always, time will tell.

I noticed in Lindy's season preview they mentioned Matt had concussion issues.

First I've heard of it.

I think it was Calvin Watkins who wrote that he had one in 2010. If that's an issue probably every player drafted has it. Most players get at least one.

Here's the direct quote. This is within their draft review, which they give the Cowboys an A-.

4(135) Matt Johnson S Eastern Washington
Started 38 games at EWU, many next to his twin brother. Comes off injury shortened season (biceps) and has had some concussion issues. Instinctive player, rugged, which might not be so good considering the head trauma history.

I really hope this kid is something special. It would be great to have an above average safety for a change.

He had one concussion -- during spring practices in 2008.

That's pretty lame of Lindy's to slap a head trauma label on a guy with one concussion.

I think Barry Wilner just had no idea who the kid was and looked up everything on the net. Really lame to put it down as a problem, but wouldn't put it past a mediot to not realize that its actually rare for a player not to have had a concussion by the time they've reached the highest level.

That was the knock on Palomalou coming into the draft also.
Seem to remember Nors saying that is why he would only play a couple of years.

Dang I'm getting old if I am referencing Noreaster takes.

I read that to. They seemed concerned with his injury history.

Here's the quote from Lindy's for anybody interested.

Matt Johnson, S, Eastern Washington
Started 38 games at EWU, many next to his twin brother... Comes off injury-shortened season (biceps) and has had some concussion issues... Insinctive player, rugged, which might not be so good considering the head trauma history.

If there was one thing the Nors-man was good at, it was being wrong... I still laugh when I think of the way he was touting Ricky Santos as a future superstar quarterback... I mean, he wasa downright insistent about it... LOL...

Probably second hand information he's relaying. "well I heard he had concussion issues........."

Mo and Johnson are the two rookies that I'm pulling for the most.. Hopefully they improve last years weakest link.. The secondary..

I'm excited for him to get there. I have a real good feeling about this kid. He has the measurable to play the position and seems to have a nose for the football not a bad combination to have at safety.
