I disagree totally - JJ was enamored with Matt Jones.


Today there is shut down mode to that silliness. Year from know who says he's "remoresfull" and not next Tank or Pacman? JJ has no issues signing that post Parcells.

Aight so i remember Matt Jones coming to dallas talk a couple of weeks ago and know i think he's a lock now I list what he has going for him and you guess can decide.

He has a rare blend of size and speed.
He is a graduate of Arkansas
He was arrested for coke.
He could be had for cheap.

I don't see it happening this season. Jones could be suspended, and the risk is too great to potentially keep a player on this roster who could possibly be addicted to drugs.

Let the suspension play out, give Jones time to either hang himself or prove that he doesn't have a drug habit, then invite him to camp next year if he's willing to play for the league minimum with incentives. I think it's likely that with a year off, Jones will show no desire to play receiver in the NFL (that is, he'll show no desire to be on an NFL roster, since he already shows no desire to play wide receiver).

I understand your thought process... BUT, not every drug using, stripper paying, gun slinging, big mouth player comes to the Cowboys.. only the super-talented ones with those qualities.

And more importantly, the ones that Jerry Jones feels really wants to do right from this point on.

Jerry doesn't care about the "image" as much as a lot of teams. He wants to win, and he'll take every outcast superstar in the league if the other owners will let him. He's just smart enough to realize that even the 90s superstar Cowboys had a TON of problems off the field, and they still managed to win 3 Superbowls in the midst of those issues.

Image is NOTHING, the Superbowl is EVERYTHING. Obey the ring.
