Pac gets 4 for maybe drinking and tustleing with a friend?Wow.This isnt a thread for or against pac just saying.wow.matt jones was caught with an 8ball of coke.lol.a lil racism perhaps on goodells part? The Jacksonville Jaguars were bracing themselves for word that a suspension of wide receiver Matt Jones could be coming.
Now the word has come: ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that Jones has been suspended three games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
If Jones is not able to get the suspension reduced on appeal, he’ll miss games at home against the Browns, at the Bengals and at the Lions. Those are all games the Jaguars will be favored to win, even without Jones, who has started all six games this season and caught 30 passes for 338 yards.
The suspension stems from Jones’ arrest over the summer. Jones entered a drug intervention program to avoid prosecution on felony cocaine possession charges.

If you can't understand the difference in situations between the two players, you really souldn't even comment.

No Pacman had about a dozen arrests and incidents and was previously suspended a year.

Matt Jones was not a frequent offender to my knowledge. He cokes up another arrest he can kiss his career away too....not unlike Pac just did.

If Goodell really had a zero tolerance policy and was trying to clean up the leagues image he would be suspended for 4 games which is the norm for substance abuse. Also kind of convenient that he gets suspended against Browns Lions and Bengals.

There is no norm for substance abuse.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens was suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2008 season and fined an additional game check on Wednesday for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

The NFL notified the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday that cornerback Johnathan Joseph has been suspended without pay for one game for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy.

The NFL has suspended Baltimore Ravens cornerback Derrick Martin without pay for the team's season opener and fined him an additional game check for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

The NFL has suspended New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk for the team's opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Unless Jones has other incidents that I don't know about, it looks like he got hammered a little harder because Coke is a less acceptable substance.

why did the suspension for an off season arrest come so late into the season ?

I'm not even sure this is related to that. You don't suspend someone for substance abuse for getting arrested cutting coke, you can suspend them for violating the conduct rules but not substance abuse. This leads me to believe he was tested and failed at least 2 tests, since you get a warning for the 1st right?

So he hasn't even been punished for the arrest yet.

Goodell has no policy. He just makes it up as he goes along.

Yeah, as usual, lets totally forget about the fact that Jones is a guy coming off a year long suspension with multiple violations.
it doesnt matter

according to the comissioner he reviews cases on a case by case basis

and he claims he doesnt just take past transgressions into account.

so if you are facing felony charges, by his way of doing things it doesnt matter if you have a clean history or not. if the crime warrants a long suspension its suppose to be handed down

this league has a history of being more leniant towards white players who have gotten in trouble with the law.
