Matt Miller 7 round mock 3/27/25

Obviously the first 3 picks are good, but the lack of effort to address the D-line (yet again) in a draft class as deep as this one, would be heart breaking.
I say this as a person who is always mocking DTs to the Cowboys. I wanted Sweat, I wanted Carter, I wanted Donald…

It isn’t about not addressing the DL.

It’s about how, in reality, this roster is stupidly thin. We need playmakers on offense and defense. We have Lamb on the offensive side, and that’s it.

So it comes down to “who is the better playmaker?” in my opinion.

And if you’re one of those people like me that see flashes of Gronk in Warren, you’re not going to sit around and say “nah, I don’t want a Gronk on my team. I’m drafting defense no matter what!!!!!!!”

That would be an asinine way to build up a team.

I’m taking the playmaker all day every day over the “pretty good” defensive player that is there.

Obviously not ideal positions, but can’t complain much when the 1st 4 picks are all good players.

Yes. I'm not a fan of Johnson. He's better than what's here but I'm not taking him in the first two rounds.
I’d agree that Johnson would be ideal value in the 3rd, but I think he’s pretty underrated. He doesn’t get enough credit for doing what he did on an Iowa team without a semblance of a competent passing game.

Iowa's offense for some years has been PATHETIC. An old HC refusing to change and no pressure to get him out results in a great RB facing stacked boxes ALL THE TIME. He still produced incredibly under those circumstances. Which in some ways makes him ideal for us.

Tyler Warren would be a sneaky smart pick, actually. Helps the run game and WRs because he commands attention. I like it.
As I was saying about Warren...

Brian: Although I think Dallas is fine at TE for the 2025 season, I wouldn’t be surprised if they took advantage of a deep TE draft class. I like Luke Lachey on Day 3, but I could see a scenario a Tyler Warren could be in play for them with the 12th overall pick in the first-round. He could actually take just as much pressure off of CeeDee Lamb as any WR they could draft.

I don’t hate it but our defense would continue to get shredded by playoff caliber contenders.

Yeah let's keep ignoring the biggest need on the defense since forever. In a draft year where the position is deep with talent and we walk away with crumbs at DT. Smh.

This is not satisfying at all. We need run stuffers and we wait until the 5th round for a DT? We have proved in the past that we can score with Dak most of the time. We haven’t proved that we can stop the run against good teams. Guess we’ll be waving at Barkley as he rips through our run D again for three quarters.
Yeah I'm on board with you. If we walk away with anything less than 2 of the top 3 picks to help the defense then were in for a long season.

Because I just don't feel like it. There are better ways for me to spend my time than trying to figure out which player 32 teams with 257 draft picks are going to take.
Lol lol lol I was just telling someone this, people do this every year, then they have the nerve to get mad when NFL teams DON'T pick the players they had on their mocks

Cowboys
1(12) Tyler Warren TE Penn St.
2(44) Kaleb Johnson RB Iowa
3(76) Jack Bech WR TCU
5(149) David Walker EDGE Central Arkansas
5(171) Carson Vinson T Alabama A&M
5(174) Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins DT Georgia
6(204) Robert Longerbeam CB Rutgers
6(211) Jackson Slater G Sacramento St.
7(239) Yahya Black DT Iowa
7(247) Tai Felton WR Maryland

This would be a great draft
The only thing I see is waiting till 6th to pick up a DB
But it’s hard to get it all

totally moronic to ignore a draft thick in the first three rounds wit the players WE NEED MOST to keep on overspending in all ways for the Offense.

but then look at those advocating JUST THAT....
