Jerry must be feeling pretty stupid right about now.

Matt Moore, QB, Carolina.
This could easily have gone to Jonathan Stewart (28 carries, a franchise-record 206 rushing yards), but I've got to hand it to Moore, for a simple reason: He's a career benchwarmer, and in the past eight days he's beaten Super Bowl champions Brett Favre and Eli Manning by a combined 67-16, and he's done it by completing 68 percent of his throws (36 of 53) for 470 yards, with six touchdowns and no interceptions. "Some guys just need a chance,'' Steve Smith told me, "and this is Matt's.'' The only question is, what took John Fox so long to yank Jake Delhomme in the midst of the worst year of his life and play this wunderkind?

Why would he feel stupid right now? Was Matt Moore going to play here? Oh you mean he wasn't? Hmmm...interesting.

Oh yes, he must be feeling so idiotic! I mean you only have the only QB in the NFL's history to start his career with 4 seasons of over 90 QB rating, in Romo.

But we must want a 1 week flash in the pan in Matt Moore, MMK!

I don't think he meant anything like that. I'm sure he was talking about Matt Moore in terms of being Romo's backup. Wouldn't you liked to have taken your chances last year with Matt Moore instead of Brad Johnson?

It happens, the fact we saw the potential and was hoping to bring him back shows me the organization knows talent. Moore was caught up in a numbers game and we lost him. I'm happy for him but not going to cry in my wheaties about some what if scenario

Agreed. If Moore were still here, we wouldn't even know who he was other than a backup quarterback with potential.

He wasn't going to start over Tony Romo and even had we retained him, he wasn't going to start over Brad Johnson last year.

We can't keep everyone.

Time to move on.

Already did. :laugh2:

I'm happy for Moore and wish him the best. I fully expect him to be Carolina starter next season so it looks like he will get his oppertunity which he was not going to get in Dallas anytime soon. I know the Cowboy wanted to bring him back but it did not happen

You trade those backup QB's for premium picks (e.g. Shaub). We could have turned a UFA into first day picks. Duh.

He would have. We eventually benched Johnson for Bollinger. If Moore was here then Moore would have been Bollinger.
