SAN FRANCISCO -- One of the few upsides to having a 4-12 record in the NFL is earning the right to coach in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., a port city mostly known as the eternal resting spot of the USS Alabama Battleship. Jason Garrett and his staff coached against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

These organizations will have the fourth and fifth-overall picks in this April's draft. It's a time-honored tradition that most coaches who secure a spot ahead of the Jaguars end up looking for other work. But Jerry Jones has chosen continuity over change mainly based on one successful season (2014) in the midst of several mediocre campaigns.

He finds himself in the awkward spot of wanting to fall in love with a new quarterback while being true to the soon-to-be-36-year-old Tony Romo. Jerry and son Stephen had to catch themselves while gushing over North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz during Senior Bowl practices. They quickly added that Romo had plenty of good years left.

It's just a sports writers piece to justify a pay check but it stirs the juices.

Jerry isnt the only and may not even be the loudest voice in the room. We cant be dismissive of him, but even if he doesnt want a QB at 4, that might still be the pick

Sorry guy, this is a real guy who knows a ton of information about the Cowboys. He has been on some of our Cowboys boards over the years, and has always been accessable as well as reasonable.

Don't be so quick to stereotype. He is truly a deep rooted Cowboy fan and has a quite extensive history around the Cowboys. He simply loves football and gives one a real view.

He has been on quite a few Cowboys talk shows, and always shot from the hip. He is pretty respected at that.

Glad to hear it CC and I'll watch my words a little more carefully here out.

I liked the article by Peter King in MMQB on Elway and how he runs things in Denver. Never gets close with the players because of tough decisions that need to be made i.e. cutting them.

Romo might be in Jerry's ear about a pass rusher or wide receiver? That's part of the problem here. The so called GM listening to the qb on draft ideas? Before anyone rips Mosley on that one, just think of how poorly this ship has been run for 2 decades. I certainly could see Jerry taking draft tips from his qb, everyone knows he's close to these players, much too close.

Yeah, other teams are run the exact same way as this trainwreck.

Stay classy.

Preppie, one should go back to his burn barrel and find some companions...or talk some legitimate footbal once in a while.

Cry on one's own quarter for once...if someone wanted attitude out of the likes, they would simply leave one as a racoon.

If one wishes to counter a described context, he should at least shoulder the discussion. Not a home boy mouse in one's pocket.

I replied in a third person...guess who was supplying all the I's?

Try again...and again, but show a little respect, THE ISSUE.

I wasn't disrespectful in the least. Neither was the original poster.

Moving on.
