If you remember, Leaf had a good game his first game and he totally sucked in his second game against the Chiefs.

So far so good for Matt Ryan, LOL.

The Bucs have a very good defense......and Ryan is a rookie. It is a totally different game when playing that scrub of a Lions D as opposed to the Bucs D. Ryan will be ok. This is just Growing Pains.

Leaf's problem was attitude. Ryan doesn't have that issues. Even the best QBs really can't do much when thrown in their first year out of college.

Honestly I can't compare them... Matt Ryan appears to have much more class and mental toughness.

I don't think Ryan is a franchise QB, just a good one you can win w/

but I don't look at him like a QB who you can count on to win games w/, he needs a team built solidly around him for him and the Falcons to succeed IMO

Any numbers put up against the Lions D should have an automatic asterisk next to them, because if the first two weeks are any indicator they might be one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL.

Ryan played in a soft conference. If he would've been in Brady Quinn's draft he would have been taken in the 2nd round.

Wow how people forget Romo's 5 INT's against Buffalo last year... I think Ryan will be a pretty good QB, I like his competiveness.

I thought Ryan played a fairly decent game, for facing the Tampa 2 for the first time ever... as a rookie. Of course, if you are the type of person who would use one quarter of play to compare a guy to Ryan Leaf, I suspect you wouldn't watch long enough to see it.

He finished up 13/33 for 158 and 2 INTs. Bad, but not Ryan Leaf bad.
