The Dallas Cowboys are two practices into training camp and are now dealing with an in-practice injury. Shortly after Thursday’s practice began, rookie offensive tackle Matt Waletzko exited with what was being described as a shoulder issue. Reports after practice ended noted that the team was going to run tests, and while the exact specifics are still unknown, initial reports are that he “is going to miss some time.”

(sigh) Brand new rookies cannot miss time .... :(

Are we now down to just Josh Ball and Collins as backup swing OTs in camp ..?

Correct and most reports are Ball is going to only be at RT.

Tyler Smith will be your LT if / when Tyron goes down

Just finding room early for retention of players they do not want to lose.

CUT HIM! Don't need anymore injury-plagued players on this team.

Im really curious just how desperate we are with tackle depth on rather or not Ball will be retained.
If he shows no improvement over last season, will Ball even deserve a roster spot?
Does he get gifted a stay on this roster if he hasn't shown improvement , because this rosters thin as spring ice at tackle?

Sadly, I think he is given this year. Stephen reported a few weeks back they have no interest in signing a veteran tackle.

It’s going to be one of those situations that will cost us games and then they’ll focus on improving it next season.

Im seeing that as this rosters largest weakness, overall.
Being able to set the edge vs speed rushers that teams in this league are collecting is going to be this teams, this OLs biggest challenge,
How long can Tyron play.
Will Steele live up to expectations.
Thats two really big questions that cannot be answered.

Man, I hate injuries, but at least its not going to require surgery...
Probably would have been a season ender if it had.

OL is my biggest concern.
So many question marks there.

Tough break for the kid but he wasn't playing any way. A 5th round developmental OT wasn't playing in front of a $40M QB unless many many different things went wrong. Our need to add another OT was huge before this and is huge after this - unchanged except for some practice reps. 50/50 he's even on the team in a couple of years, but I hope he is back in time to get some preseason snaps to learn for next year
