Matthew Golden should probably be our pick

We have no offensive weapons outside of Lamb.

WRs are ridiculously overpriced right now as free agents.

Golden is good at all the things Dak likes.

He is a good route runner / separator

He has incredible 4.29 speed

He’s 6’0

He can track the football and has a large catch radius

He also plays big in big games.

He looks like a Antonio Brown starter kit on the field to me.

The Arizona guy just looks like a guy Dak would struggle to get the ball to.

I think Golden almost has to be our pick at this point.
Watch the Niners scoop him up right in front of you.

I agree but if they just have to take one at 12 golden is the one. I personally think better value on wr is savion Williams in round 2. He's a "weapon" besides ceedee
Savion Williams is the same player as Mingo just with his name spelled differently. 5th round talent who will be over drafted due to scores at the underwear Olympics.

I would prefer Tyler Warren a thousand times over, a better weapon for this offense, I don't know why he isn't being considered.

By the time he's ready to get paid, he'll be asking for 53 million a year!

perception is that teams should not draft TEs high, data backs it up too but you can't tell me Golden is a better football player than Warren.
Warren is clearly much better, and it's not just because he runs fast that a player is better, Golden has many drops, Warren is better in all aspects than Golden, it's obvious.

Warren had a 15 percent drop rate in 2023. Golden never had close to 15. But hey, he's a generational tight end apparently

he had 2.8% drops on 135 targets in 2024 and that too with a terrible no good hyped up for no reason QB.

So just disregard 2023 huh? If you love a guy that's fine but to lie as if golden has a drop issue but Warren doesn't is weak. Just say you like Warren and leave it at that.

And I'm talking about the other poster

Honestly.....this is what I would do but trade down near 20 and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd. I would just take the BPA at one of my positions of need.
You do that you don’t get a guy worth the pick you gave up, especially at DT/DE, our biggest needs right now. We can get a starter at RB in the 3rd but at DE or DT. We also need corners badly because all of ours outside the kid we picked up last year suck.

JMO, sign a FA WR.......there is still SDiggs and ACooper out there.

Trade down and Use rd 1-3 on (playmaker- preferably on D; prefer CB, LB, DE), DT, and RB.

If this team doesn't get a running game, then it doesn't matter who WR2 is. Dak is not Mahomes, Burrow, or Allen. He isn't going to put precise throws 40 yds down the field. He needs a running game. So get the running game first.
And get the D straightened out. Dallas can score 28 a game, and it not matter a bit if the D is giving up 35. Right now, most of the assets and money are tied into the QB, front line, and WR........at least until Parsons signs. This team badly needs DL, LB and RB. It isn't going anywhere till these three positions are made better.

Then and only then would a WR2 make any difference at all. There is still only one ball they are playing with. There are still 5 OL, 1 QB, and 5 skill players on the field. Teams love it when the QB is a playmaker as well, but in general 5-1-5 is the setup. Teams and people don't seem to understand that one group of skill players sets up the other group, and excellent TE's help both the running and passing games. The talent on the team determines the playmakers, but the coaching is the one who either makes it excel or allows it to decline.
We badly need CB’s as well

i am saying that you have to acknowledge that Warren has almost eliminated his drops problem, there is a reason he is a top 10 prospect even though his QB is not great and he didnt even run great routes in college,he just out-muscled everybody.

Golden had a 6.5 percent drop rate. And 2.8 for Warren. So one has a problem and one is good to go? Make it make sense. I dint care if people like certain guys but when folks start lying and making up stats it's pretty weak. It happens way too much during draft time on this website.

There isn't a metric in this universe where 6.5 is a "bad" drop percentage.

When you have multiple needs as the Cowboys do, you draft the bpa at any position of need. If your pick is the best at his job, and you need help there, it should be of benefit to the team.

For example (not saying they are necessarily the top at their position) if at 12 you have Hunter, Golden and Graham available, just pick one. Doesn't matter which one, all of them, based on their evaluation, can help your team. Obviously if you take, say, Hunter, then Golden and Graham are very unlikely to be there at no. 44, so you just have to hope Hunter works out. No sense crying over spilled milk, as the old saying goes.

Just please, Jerry, no reaching for a player or taking someone with a severe existing injury or a history of multiple injuries!!!

The ideal scenario will be a trade down 5-8 spots, still getting the player we want, and getting an extra 1st to address another need.

The only problem is we would have burned a 12th overall AND 4th rounder on WR position.........

BTW......take it for what it's worth

i don;t buy that for a dollar ! ... what too much burnt bridges to be returning to Amari again ... Vibe I got was the Jones could not wait to get him off the roster.

And Bills showed no inclination at all to re-sign him up again.

The major lead problem is .. we have an overpaid starting QB who has deep ball accuracy.issues, imo

.Constantly overthrew wide open speedy Brandin Cooks on fly go deep ball routes. .Frustrating

.Is it just me or does it seem like Dak's deep ball accuracy is so erratic and just comes and goes ?
