I think on one bet, he said if he won his bet, anyone that bought a mattress from him in that previous year, he would refund them their money. So the mattress was free.
Not sure if it meant new customers at point up until the game was played, or limited just prior sales when he placed the bet.

Not sure if he still does that.
I can't remember what game he betted on, but it has been quite a while ago, and can't remember if he won or lost the bet.

He does that still...it's his marketing ploy...people love him and the brand but he's bat you know what crazy....there are a few other regional furniture companies that do something similar that I've seen

Aren’t some of these big bets hedges against some of his free furniture giveaways? In other words he makes a promotion that says if the Astros win, your furniture is free. But he then bets the Astros and the winnings cover the promotion.

Mc is always betting big on games. Any event with a Texas team he is betting on them. Of course there is a catch, you buy furniture and get it free if Dallas wins and if not you pay. Either way Mc wins. Not knocking him smart business move on his part and the guy does a lot for the Houston area community.
