Anyone else sick of Carlisle playing JJ Barea over Roddy Beaubois?

He is so scared Roddy will make a mistake but that is all JJB does when he is in the game is make mistakes.

At least Roddy gives you another scoring option. Cuban needs to force the issue and get him some PT because Dallas is doing teams a favor by not playing Beaubois.

I was at the Phoenix game last night and wondering why Roddy was MIA. Barea was not terrible but he is a defensive liability. But Beaubois has star potential, imo.

Kidd had to play 41.5 minutes last night too. That's why Barea didn't screw things up. They better get a backup PG today or start giving Roddy more PT cause Barea is awful.

Yeah he was. That was the most steals he has had in 1 game.

I know everyone is pumped about Caron Butler, as am I, but Haywood is the best big man this team has had in the Dirk era.

Haywood did an awesome job tonight. He is a difference maker in Dallas.

Kidd is playing great ball too but we need a backup who can cut into his minutes.

Magic go down tonight and we are getting ready to whoop the Lakers next Wednesday.

I wish JJB was traded this past week. I've been sick of him for the past year now.

Dallas just won 3 out of 4 with no practice yet.

Lake show is going down this week.

Yeah. Big game on Wednesday to see where they are currently at. 36-21 and only 1.5 games back of the number 2 spot.

Dallas has the Magic's number, period. You ever want to win the Finals, then pray that the Mavs meet Orlando. Six of the last seven is not a fluke.

Haywood had another impressive game against the Pacers and Roddy got significant minutes last night.

I can't wait for our Wednesday match up and LA is supposed to get Kobe back tonight so it makes it even better.

Dallas is playing really good basketball right now and the team hasn't had a chance to gel. Plus our bench is currently decimated with injuries.

Mavs are definetely the team to keep an eye on down the stretch.

Roddy B is a rookie who is still learning English, still learning the NBA, and still learning the offense. And we want him to play big minutes with two guys who until today had not had a full practice with the team? You could potentially have sixty percent of your lineup on the court with a shaky grasp of the playbook, with a team that was TERRIBLE on defense in the weeks leading up to the All-Star break.

Also, if you saw the game last night, Beaubois was getting killed on the pick-and-roll. Give it some time. Roddy B has got all the physical tools and athleticism to be a HUGE talent, but he still has work to do. Once Haywood and Butler get some practice time in you'll start to see Beaubois take Barea's minutes away.

Dang you disapeared for while.

Is Roddy better than Barea? To me that's all that matters.

If you have to put Terry at backup point and
let Roddy be the 2 the do it.

Just get Barea off the court because everything Carlisle is affraid Roddy will do Barea does anyways.

Seems like it going to be a dog fight until the end. Great game so far.

I cant believe Butler got sick off some medicine.

We can actually compete with the Lakers now because of Haywood.

Its a new team and we have a legit presence in the middle now with Haywood. The guy was active all night.

We beat them without Caron Butler and Dampier tonight too.

Dallas hasn't even had a sanctioned practice.

These guys from the Wiz seem so motivated that they are playing way above the level they were playing with Washington.

Mavericks are legit.

Jet and Marion had a heck of a game and LA just cant stop Dirk.

Yeah, I haven't been around much lately.

I think Beaubois is LOADS better than Barea - potentially - but at the moment he has quite a few defensive lapses. Of course, he is also capable of some amazing plays, including a great block last night against the Lakers in his four minutes and change on the court.

Barea is what he is, and will never be more than that, but he has Carisle's trust that he will run the plays, regardless of the fact that he is a defensive sieve. Once Roddy tightens up his D and plays to his potential - he certainly has the athleticism to cover the water-bug PG's like Paul, Parker, Deron Williams, Ellis, etc. in the West, it's just a matter of him putting it all together.

Here's hoping he puts it together quick. ;)

As for Terry, I would rather keep him solely at the 2, whether Barea plays or not. He is at his best taking the pass and shooting. I love JET, but I do not want him distributing the ball. His finishes on the fast break are cringe-worthy. He and Josh Howard were our two worst players on the fast break (okay, three - Damp is in the conversation, but "fast" is never something you would put anywhere in the same vicinity as Damp), and now one of them is gone.
