I just follow the team thru the paper and on here and I don't know much about basketball but it seems this team is content to take a freefall without Dirk.

Lengthy losing stretch now since he's been out and who knows when he'll be back..are they content to just continue losing? Could they go trade for somebody that can at least make them competitive?

Yeah, he really is. A couple of weeks ago someone asked him about winning 70 games, before they went on that 2 game losing streak. He asked Danny Ferry who was coming out of an office, "Do you think we'll win 70 games this year?"

Danny shot back "Only your fault if we don't."

Carons contract is expring so they can make a trade.


Mavs fans really need this Nuggets,Nets,Pistons trade to go down because there will be a big fire sale and Dallas could get some guys on the cheap.

Possibly Devon Harris + Al Harrington.


Also Charlotte is looking to dump salaries too... How nice would it be to have Gerald Wallace in a Mavs uni?



Not to mention... 2 or 3 weeks until Roddy gets back.

No reason to watch really.

The Mavs are not at all the real Mavs right now and SA is rolling along.

If anyone ever doubted how valuable Dirk is, then the proof could never be more clear. I think it's something like 24-5 with and 2-7 without. Losing Caron sure didn't help either.

They were so outstanding before Dirk went down that after all of these losses, they still are right there near the top of the Western Conference, well behind SA and barely behind LA, but third overall.

Also Tayshaun Prince is another player to watch out for the Mavs to pick up.

This game went the way it should have gone...I mean no Dirk and Butler, the Mavs are definitely not the same potent team. Dirk will be back soon, Butler won't. I am interested in seeing how well the Mavs adjust to not having Caron anymore this season. As important as having Dirk is, Caron has extreme value as well. With him, the Mavs finally had that second legit punch to go along side the German.

Before Dirk got hurt he led the league in +/- when he played vs when he was out. His value is almost not measurable.

But I'm afraid your right; Caron will be greatly missed and I'm not sure finally getting Roddy B (who will star some day) back in a month will fill that void.

Before the injuries, I thought they were finally again legit title contenders. Even when Dirk and Roddy come back, I don't feel that's the case without a nice move.
