You hope 2 of the 3 QB's expected to go in round two go off before our pick at 40, then have some QB desperate team come up to our pick and maybe give us a 3rd or 4th this yr and a 1st next yr.

That only works for the Pats . Seriousley how do they do it? It's crazy and they may grab another futire 1 today for pick 33.

Bengals and Cards 2 teams where QB may fall. Given the situation with Palmer and of course the Cards still needing to replace Warner

Bills, Niners also were looking at QB's. So were Fins (who dont have a 2nd rd pick) Raiders and Seahawks as I recall.

I do not foresee the Patriots making a pick at #33. I think someone definitely pays a price to get into that pick.

Would doubt the Raiders will. Campbell did a pretty good job and I don't think this crop of QB's fit with Oak

That's true, but they can get a little "cute" as well. Brady isn't getting any younger and they need playmakers. They came out of the 1st round with Solder who some feel is a bust in the making. I'm still trying to figure out there strategy with this whole thing.

i would be all stockpiling picks in the 2nd round and 3rd of this and next year. If a team wants the 40 slot I take there 2nd this year + 3rd and maybe a 3rd next year as well.

Kaepernick and Dalton for sure, but I think teams will let Mallett slide.

Guess I don't get the fascination some have with making trades, especially for next year's picks. We have lots of needs right now and some key players who aren't getting any younger.

Now if it's only a few spots down and we're sure that comparable players we like will be available, sure, add the value. But all things considered I want players this year, not next.

I think their faith in their offensive line coach and the tempting upside in Solder sealed the deal.

And they also came out of the first round with a 2012 first rounder in hand as well in addition to a second-rounder this year.

And they're also in the driver's seat starting tonight.

They're in good shape.

I just hope Jerry doesnt decide to draft a QB at 40.

If he does we will not escape this day without a suggestion that the player might supplant Romo THIS YEAR. Count on it. :)

What's strange to me is they keep moving down and having multiple #1's every year, but then they never do anything with those picks. What player are they waiting for to finally use those picks to move up?

I think Mallet may very well go to the Bills and if not them, the Bengals.

I am hoping the Raiders are interested in Kaepernick, and want to move ahead of the Commanders (into our spot at 40) for him.

I can see them drafting Bowers.

But if they get an offer including next years first rounder, they are all over it.

I don't think anyone gives up next years first for any of the QBs left in the draft.

I think there is value at 40, I hang on to that pick. You've got OL, DL, DBs, RBs, and even WR (like Titus Young) still sitting on the board. If you trade, it had better be a great offer. Otherwise, take someone of value that is still on the board.
