Did anyone else notice Jason Garrett with a smile on his face calling plays when we were down 10 or whatever in the 2nd quarter, something tells me we were just playing with the skins and will go balls out during the playoff games

If you've been listening to the players, they've been talking about how theyve been practicing all this mess during the week, but never using it in the game. We've had a playoff spot locked up for weeks. I definitely believe we're preparing some new stuff for the playoffs. It's not going to be a different offense, but guarantee there will be new wrinkles. The players have been wondering when they're gonna try this stuff - maybe they've been saving it for the second season.

I was thinking the same thing SP, because it doesnt get any more vanilla then the performance we saw yesterday.
On the other hand, dropped passes , missed blocking assignments, inability to cover, can't stop 3rd and long, are what they are. New wrinkles or not.

Folks, you don't have to look at Garrett's face, the proof could be seen on the field.

We had Jacques Reeves and Alan Ball out there.

Marcus Spears spent some time at NT.

Tony Romo forced passes to Terry Glenn, including one that was intercepted.

Jason Witten was still playing in the 3rd Quarter of a meaningless game.

Our best player didn't even make the trip.

On the nose -- especially since we were playing a team that we very well may see again. The old adage about not wanting to play a team three times in a year is all about familiarity with each other's playbook. That's exactly why we played straight up vanilla Sunday. Washington had to show their hand while we played it close to the vest. Big advantage for us if we see them again.

Some might counter that we could have eliminated the Skins yesterday, but as we saw, a Skins loss would not have eliminated them.

As hard as it was to digest that disgusting performance on an individual level, the fact remains the same... it was meaningless.
Personally I am submiting to denial,... its a nice safe peacefull place... and putting our final game of the regular season behind me. Its how I cope.
We got two weeks to get ready for what really matters, and to shake off this bad performance and heal up.
This team will shake off the funk and roll in the playoffs....thats what I keep telling myself.
Its just another December, just another December, just another....

And that in itself probably adds to the lack-lustre performances. Knowing that they have some exciting new stuff that they can only unveil in the play-offs, they may be just seriously looking ahead...

Dallas on offense, if they can't find anything, seem to be just content with throwing the dump-offs to Barber. Remember when they played Philly in game 1 and they moved TO all over the place, and had the WRs running quick slants. They haven't really done that since, despite the success.

See I never understood that if you as a team are scared to face them then you do not deserve to be in the playoffs. heck you should not go to the SB for that matter if you are worried about facing someone else

Haha, that's great. You have your denial. I have my irrational exuberance supported by nothing more than faith. It's what being a fan means.
