Maybe I'm Wrong about Garrett

I haven't been crazy about his offensive philosophy or his attachment to the shotgun formation.

But after a look at the 12 playoff teams this year, it's apparent that offensive balance is obsolete and you have to pass to win in today's NFL.

In short, if you didn't have at least twice as many passing yards this season as running yards, you aren't in the tournament. If you did, you were at least in contention the last weekend if you passed for 4000 yds (Houston and Pittsburgh). The exceptions are the Jets, Ravens and Bengals, who are in the playoffs with less than twice the passing yards, and the Giants who more than doubled their run yards and had over 4000 passing but were still eliminated 2 weeks ago.

So if Romo is more comfortable throwing from the shotgun, go ahead. This is a passing league now.

I think a lot of people are wrong about Garrett, and have said so for quite some time. Garrett>>>forum posters.

Dallas was still able to run the ball 29 times for 182 and threw the ball 34 times for 311. Dallas is getting a good balance of run and pass. I think too many make a bigger deal out of running as many plays out of the shotgun as we do.

a good experienced coordinator would orchestrated at least 2 to 3 more touchdowns the last 2 games combined. garrett isnt horrible but he's still very inexperienced and trying to figure this thing out. thankfully those 2 or 3 td's werent needed over the last two games but they sure better have them in the playoffs.

he's done a solid job lately. just stop throwing when we're up 24-0 with 6 minutes left. Romo almost got hurt because of that.

Garrett has really stepped it up since the New Orleans game. I still dont like all the draws and delays, but Im sure he has a reason for running them.

I would like to see a few more outside runs with Felix Jones.

It almost seems like they have been saving him for a late season run or something. For whatever reason he has been utilized much more effectively the last few weeks.

There were 10 minutes left in the game and we were backed up facing a 3rd and 14 when he threw. I'd rather go for the first via pass and try to ice than play it safe and punt it.

Same here, Dallas was not looking to just go 3 and out then punt. People have talked about our lack of killer instinct well Dallas is just showing what many complained they did not have. If Philly or others are upset about that well too bad.

I think a lot of us have been wrong about a lot of things this season, win or lose Saturday.

I genuinely like the direction arrow is pointing for this franchise right now.
