Oh don't get me wrong...I am not ragging on the idea...just laughing because they would be a pretty aged group of HC, DC and OC.

Plus...nothing wrong with an old fart...I love CBZ.:D
It's a one shot deal any way. I suspect we'll have a whole new staff in 2008.

All I am looking for now is a ST coach.

Lebeau runs a different type of 3-4, which would mean he would have to change or we'd need different personnel. Our DEs are much to big and slow, save Hatcher, to run his zone blitz type of scheme. I can just see Spear dropping back in coverage. Also, it would be interesting to see if Purcells would be down with that style anyway.

I completely disagree on needing different personnel. Our personnel would need to adapt and since they were almost all team captains and got good grades, I'd say chances are that they can do this.

Spears, Canty and Hatcher could easily fit into a zone blitz scheme...Spears is extremely athletic and has good speed for a guy his size...Htahcer has excellent size and athletic ability...Canty is a decent athlete

there is a difference between "playing slow" and actually "being slow"...our team "plays slow" because they spend too much time making reads and playign on their heels...change the scheme, and we'll look dramatically different

I disagree with that. From all accounts Spears is a very good athlete (former TE I believe) and Canty is as well. I think they could adjust well. In Lebeau's system our inside backers would have to be better at getting to the QB though. I think Ayodele would be ok since he played WLB in the 4-3 and DE in college but James hasn't shown the ability to rush the passer at all. (Probably shouldn't have brought that up because I sense a post or two about moving Carp inside and James to the bench)

Believe me, I'm up for the change in scheme. Anything that would bring some aggressiveness. I'll reserve judgement on Spears. I don't disagree he's athletic, I just don't know if he's got 454 under the hood or a 4 banger. I will agree that Hatcher and Spears are very athletic.

I would have absolutely no problem moving Bradie James to the bench.

Next thing is getting Lebeau. Personally, I don't see it happening, but it would be a huge step forward.

Add Labeau and Henning and I will be very happy about the prospects for 2007.
Please, don't get me going so early in the offseason. I won't make it, man.
