Stanback is going to be a MAJOR factor to our O this season. JJ knows it too, you can feel the energy and excitment when he talks about him. He's been watching this kid in practice and knows what he can do. Stanback is gonna be a welcomed suprise for us...

zeromaster, I hope you realize he ran a 4.58 when he was coming off a foot injury and not fully healthy. Maybe you should go take a look at his speed by being one of the top collegiate track runners in the country.

So.. look it up and see if you're still laughing.

:lmao2:

Everyone in this thread is being sarcastic about Stanback's speed. Its a joke about eduncan.

Thought I'd include you in....join us on the inside.

If Glenn can get healthy and Stanback has something to offer, that will be something to "WOW" about....

He has sick speed for a wideout, and he is big. With another off season and training camp he could develop.

Would be a surprise to most, just like Jerry said.

I love watching him run, but I was thinking his 40 times was in the 4.55 range...which is okay but not great by any means. Is he actually more like 4.4?

Really, the only WOW on Stanback is "WOW, they took him in the 4th round." They guy needs to learn to play a new position, and when he was tried as a KR, he injured his shoulder.

Right now he is more Macy Brooks than Robert Brooks, and more Dev Johnson than Chad Johnson.

Stanback= next big WR in Dallas. Mark it down. That's how much l think about this guy.

I was in agreement with this a year ago. With a season under his belt and a full offseason to get accustomed to the WR spot, he will come out smoking in TC. The last time I said this it was about a guy named Romo that showed out in TC and took over when the team finally realized the human statue was a done deal. (even though they almost sent me into vfib for 4 weeks of enduring the human sack receiver)

Not really. As was posted many times immediately foloowing the draft, several teams had their eye on him. He is an incredible athlete and could have a big impact in the return game and some impact at WR. Not sure I would go so far as WOW but the kid can play football.

With this league having surprising breakout players every year why cant it be Stanback?

Because the breakout players have pedigrees at their position. Stanback is a novice at receiver.

I like his talent and potential too. But let's have him get some real WR playing time in a regular season game first. I don't see how he could go from playing in no games to being a breakout player the next season. I think it's more realistic to see him become one of the top two return men on the team and battle for the 3rd or 4th WR spot.

I hope Stanback proves you wrong, but this is kind of how I feel as well. I think there are a couple ex-qbs out there that made the transition pretty well... but can't think of any offhand.

I wanna say Hines Ward was a qb, but not a full time one in college. And we all know how Matt Jones did in Jacksonville.

Either way, I am really hoping after last year, he comes into camp healthy (and stays healthy) making Hurd and Miles look expendable.

I think it is troubling that the word potential has been mentioned several times in this tread re Stanback, the current Ouch player.

Nonetheless I hope he is given the chance and has a breakout year.

I hope your not one of those guys that thought low on barber before you realized He was the real deal after the fact.

I remember when Parcells put him in his first game on shrt yardage and He actually lost yards..Everybody wanted his head..JUilius JOnes this and that.

Look how that turned out...MB3 FTW

And sooner or later you will see.Stanback has potential to kick some serious A**.

The kid is going to be special but I really hope he is working on his hands and routes.

He has all the making of an elite WR, in time we will find out...
