Processing.... Processing... update complete.

Well, I thought our football team played well and made the right football plays in this football game against a good football team. Now what we do is go back and look at the tape. We look at the tape and we look at the tape well to make our football team better. We had some injuries but it's next man up. Next man up is a concept we've always had for our football team, and we feel like we've got some quality football players on the Dallas Football Cowboys. Download complete.

He actually coached to win while helping his guys out. He(I) saw that they were in trouble and needed something extra.

The fake punt was the most important play of the game. If that failed, we do not win this game, Philly would have got the ball back already in scoring position. Dallas got the momentum after that and never looked back.

Also, why can't we coach our guys up to not hold and block in the back on Special teams??? Wilber with a dumb hold! The clip by Smith, the running into kicker and 12 men on the field, plus a huge return. Garrett has to put a stop to this

Did you actually see the running into the kicker and did you actually see 12 men on the field?

I thought Flopping was only in professional soccer and the NBA. Apparently it is infiltrating the NFL too.

I remember Dr. Z writing years ago about the practice the Niners had before their first Super Bowl against the Bengals and how Bill Walsh had them practicing just about every trick play imaginable. Walsh's theory was to be aggressive and you never know when you might need those plays. But, he also knew it would loosen up the team.

In the end, the Niners didn't run one trick play. But the preparation got them the end result they wanted.

First, I have always been a MAJOR critic of Garrett. The main reason is the mind numbing situational weakness managing the clock, lack of statistically sound risk taking (fakes, 4th down, etc). There was never a game where you could point to and say "Garrett just won this game"

Watching the game, I thought we would continue the trend of mismanaging the the end of half. 1st and goal, Zeke over 60 yards in the first half and not one goalline run. It wasnt so much the play calling, but Philly took TO#1 to stop the clock to try to save time to score. Running the ball (with the best OL and maybe best back) not only was sound, but the downside was he would get stopped and philly would need to burn TO#3 (they burned TO#2 on daks 16 yard scramble for first and goal). They were dictating what they were were going to do. Instead, 2 passes with the final a freshman mistake for an INT. Philly gets to use that TO to get in place for the 55 yarder and get the ball back.

Then, all of a sudden, as Dak finally showed real "Rookie struggles", garrett began coaching to help his team out. The fake punt, the Beasley throw, going for it on fourth down and 1. Garrett seemed to finally understand that he had to be aggressive to fight back against some adversity. I cant recall ever seeing this level of "coaching to win" from him. The calls directly led to this victory. I hope this continues, because I believe it is one more chess piece that helps a team win in the long run. Even a split second of secind guessing from the other team is an advantage. Bravo! The 2nd half was a coaching masterpiece. And really, it isnt hindsight, the calls were sound and appropriate. Even if the 4th down hadnt worked, it was the statistically right call.

For the team, nothing to say but a complete team win. The offense was struggling and the defense really played well. I mentioned in the game thread that Sean Lee may have played the best LB game Ive seen this year - and I watch basically all games. The tackling was sure with the exception of Sproles, but you have to give it up for that guy, he is a beast and a matchup nightmare. The pass rush wasnt great, but Philly is overly protective of Wentz and they play small ball. The defense came up when they were needed. This is not what I expected, and that added to the excitement

Elliot had a great game, Dez had a great game (though would still like to see more slants and crossing routes). Dak struggled mightily and did not see the field and wide open receivers. But, he put it behind him and closed.

This was a complete win on mental toughness and perseverance from the whole org. It was the definition of the defense picking up the the offense, the coaching picking up the team,

I'll bask in this one for a while. That said, the NFL is becoming an less entertaining product with all the flags and inconsistency. That is for another thread though
I disagree . The team was flat and very inconsistent in this game. Much of the problem came from Dak, who had his worst game as a Cowboy. On the bright side, they pulled it together when the game was on the line. When a team plays bad and still finds a way to win , they are a very good team. This game was a gut check and Dallas passed it.

The NFL is a product of the current CBA. The owners decided to surrender quality of product with less practice and took more money. It is what it is.

They screwed up and hopefully they fix it.

Garrett must have gotten a software update, because he makes none of those calls just 3-4 years ago.

The defense 3-4 years ago was gimp Ware, headcase Ratliff, mediocrity like Spears, a perpetually injured Lee, bonehead Carter, the secondary of garbage and Spencer on defense.

Offense included crap Livings, up, down and injured Costa, the corpses of Kosier, Gurode, Adams, plus Barber, injured Murray and spares like Nagy.

Put simply this team is light years better. Better teams allow you to take risks.

We were fortunate to get 8-8 with those rosters. The depth was worse. Recall ST?

The offense is moving the ball well, especially considering how little experience Dak has at QB. I can't wait to see how well he plays once he's had more experience to read NFL defenses better and more consistently. The same goes for Zeke as well. If Jaylon Smith gets going in 2017, I'd expect it to get even more interesting in a hurry. Good things are on the horizon and there's good cause to think it might continue.

Once this defense improves its pass rush, this team should compete with the best of the best in the league. It might be next year or perhaps even two before that comes about but it's definitely something to look forward to. In the meantime, we can likely look forward to an interesting playoff run at year's end. The new era Cowboys have finally been born and now appear to be cutting their teeth. We can all appreciate that development.

Sometimes ugly wins are the most meaningful and that was a massive win yesterday--even more so because of how we dug out of the grave and drove a stake through Philly's heart.

As for complete organizational wins I'm not sure where I'd rank it.

My vote for 1# organizational win of the decade:
2014 victory over Seattle--in Seattle with over 400 yards of offense on the league's best defense.

Dak did play like a rookie for much of thr game. But he grew up right in front of our eyes on the last two drives. He has "it".

And Hitchens went full ****** on that late hit to the head. It was like I was watching another team. But the leaders all stepped up from Dak, Lee, Crawford, Dez, Garrett, etc. Zeke was also amazing, such the emotional leader. May have taken that position from Dez.

Complete game? Really?

Special teams play was terrible. So was a lot of the play calling and going away from Zeke. Great win but far from complete.

I have an opinion about that. Just my opinion.

I think the Cowboys were aware of the 'bounty' mentality of the Eagles and some of our players wanted to mete out a little payment for past Philly conduct. Make a statement.

I'd compare it to baseball pitcher throwing a 95 fastball into an opponents ribs. The Cowboys have seen crap in the past and decided to be those delivering cheap shots rather than on the receiving end.

This wouldn't have come from the coaches, but from the brotherhood within.

Maybe worth the 15 yard penalty, IMO.

For the record...I'm sure I'm just talking craziness. I'm sure I'm wrong. I'm sure this is nonsense.

Yes he does. He definitely seems to be a guy who can elevate his game. Better in game than in practice. And still better when the game is on the line.

A bit like Romo with all those 4th quarter comebacks and the highest 4th quarter QB rating in history.
