Do players HAVE to be signed to attend TC?

The players go thru all the mini's and OTA's.. why not start TC if you are confident that a deal will be done in a day or two??

Is there a rule in CBA that prohibits players that are not under contract to attend TC?

I'm not so sure of this. Seems to me that we had guys in camp while unsigned a couple years ago. Certainly, something could have changed or my memory could be faulty (which is probably the more likely of the two) but seems as if we've seen this before.

I thought I read someplace, that players sign an injury selttlement contract that if an injury occurs in mini camps OTA's they will be compensated 1 year's salary based on their slotted draft position. I could be wrong though.

I was just wanting to clear it up in case anyone was confused.

Most notably, the O.P. I didn't want him/her to think it was a comment directed at him/her.

Well I am a Him... and I don't get offended.. And to clear up my question.. i was not saying it would be smart for a player to attend TC without a contract,, just wondering if they COULD.. or if it was part of the CBA and not allowed under the rules..
