I have been reading the board all day and I think I have a take on this BP thing. JJ seems like he is unconcerned and BP has been working like normal which makes you think he is coming back but he will not say so. I think the real question might not be if he comes back (which is why JJ is not worried) but if he signs an extension.

Think about it, if your HC was thinking about quiting you would probably be pretty nervous but if instead you were waiting on him making a decision on a new contract and confident that he would fufill his current contract then you wouldn't be too worried.

Please don't post logical threads...it bothers those of us who would rather spend countless hours speculating about things that have ZERO chance of happening. :D

Good point Juke! Maybe the reason that JJ is not concerned is that he has lined up Jimmy to be the head coach, Bill Walsh as OC, and Buddy Ryan as DC :D

Heck, now that I think of it, why not :lmao2:

Good thought.

Since everyone else is throwing speculation out there, how about this?

Parcells is waiting for Payton and Zimmer to catch on as head coaches, thus helping Jerry from having to consider either of the two. Once they are hired, Parcells hands Jerry his resignation papers and allows him to find a viable candidate.

We now return you to your scheduled program...

Look at the job Saban had done in Miami. He said he couldn't do it without his assistants who might be future head coaches in the near future. If you spend well at all coaching positions, result are much better than if you just spend on a head coach alone. I would not be surprised to see Jimmy Johnson and Norv Turner return to Dallas. If Jimmy wanted to run the 3-4 look to him to add Jim Haslett who ran a 3-4 in New Orleans or Dom Capers. The defense coordinator would probably handle the defense alone. I could also see one of our fomer Oline coaches and Hoffman return with Jimmy as well. How much is Jones willing to pay for assistants? Can you really put a price on coaching excellence? Maimi didn't and pays the most in the league for their coaches and assistants. Look at the job they did with marginal talent!

Speculation, not around here. To tell you the truth, what else do we have to talk about.

I said it the other day, JJ was way to nonchalant about the whole thing when he was asked about it. They said it would take 15 minutes to figure out whats going on. To me that says, BP and him are happy with where the team is at (not how we finnished this year) but with what it is in place. BP comes back.

Look at it this way. Parcells has had to rebuild the entire team from top to bottom. All that's really left now is the O-Line, FS maybe, and getting a nice young WR. QB of the future would be nice....but hey. I dont know alot of people who buy a property, rip down the house on there, build up a new one, and right before they get the last of the furniture in it, decide to move.

Good thought, I am not pleased w/ the offense, but he has fixed in a big way a defense that was wayyyyyyyy overrated when we were #1.
